it didn’t take long for Linhardt to realize that you loved naps just as he did. watching as your eyelids slowly dropped over your tired eyes, he couldn’t help but chuckle at how silly you looked.
that said, you quickly came to an agreement: nap shifts. you both nestled in the back of the classroom in hopes of escaping Byleth’s view (not that it ever helped). once the lecture started, Linhardt would take the first shift, dozing off as Byleth prattled on. you would then record notes during said lecture, and swap once it was your turn to nap.
however, it was more so you taking the notes than Linhardt. he’d only record lectures that he found fascinating, much to your detriment.
because of this, daytime was often boring. you’d both sleep during lectures, only to wake if class was over or it was time to train.
(not to mention having to ward off Edelgard, who quickly took notice of your napping habits.)
nighttime, however, tended to be a lot cozier (especially after a long day of training). you’d often find yourself sleeping in Linhardt’s room, laying against his chest as he paged through a book about Crestology.
you can’t help but use his heartbeats to help you fall asleep; they’re so soft, so relaxing. he quickly noticed this, and as you drift off, you can feel his fingers run along your hair.
sometimes you’re up later. in that case, Linhardt isn’t as cuddly, opting to simply sleep next to you. however, he keeps his fingers intertwined with your own. you can’t help but smile when you feel his thumb rub against yours while he sleeps
despite his own bad habits, Linhardt will urge you to go to sleep if it gets to late. part of it is concern, part of it is his wanting to be close to you.
