Haven’t watched the trailers yet; I’ve been working.

I’m eager to pick them apart though. My main gripe so far is that they made Angela look more like a kid??

The main thing about Silent Hill is that it’s supposed to be unsettling, right? Because it’s a horror game. For me, part of that was seeing a grown woman having a complete, age-regressing meltdown. It’s really normal to see older teens and young adults call their parents “Mama.” But a visibly older woman having that same experience is unsettling.

Idk, I think I’m just afraid of Angela getting memed to death instead of having her (really crucial, incredibly interesting, highly sympathetic) character arc be taken seriously.

Headcannons (nsfw and otherwise) on Ruvik? Also, do you plan on updating you fic on Ao3 on Ruvik and Laura? I really hope so, it is beautifully written!

(I haven’t given a lot of thought to that fic, just because I was editing it after it was a NaNo project. I started working on other projects and it sort of fell to the side. I might poke it at some point, since my writing style has changed really drastically since I wrote the first draft.

(But yes! Ruvik h/c’s!)

Picky eater, but not opposed to foods that are sort of gory or anatomical. Liver? He’s in. Eggplant parmigiana? Get it away from him, he’s not eating it.

Terrible driver. He kind of understands the basics but is awful at putting it to practice on anything but a long, open, empty road.

Steady, strong hands. Good for surgery and piano but he also gives world-class shoulder/back massages.

He’s got more length than girth, but it’s not quite a needle.

Never had a preference for position out in reality, but prefers to be able to maintain eye contact (stare into someone’s soul) after getting into the STEM system.

He’s very into BDSM, but he also enjoys dirty talking, hair-pulling, and body worship.

Okay, so to take it from the top…

The SH2 Remake. My usual apathy towards SH2 is aided and abetted by the fact that it’s Bloober Team doing it. On one hand, I liked Layers of Fear and I’ve beaten it twice, and that game lifted heavily from SH2 in places; on the other hand, The Medium looks godawful and I find it incredibly reductive. So… Could be better, could be worse, but ultimately damned by the fact that it’s a PS5 exclusive as far as I know, and I’m not about to buy one for a remake of a game I tolerate. (edit: I’ve been told it’s going to be on Steam as well but they didn’t announce that to us Americans; I had originally heard it’s a timed-exclusive so we will get it eventually, but that might be different) (I have more thoughts here. I'm still digesting the trailer; expect more vomit later.)

I’m intrigued by the idea of Silent Hill F. My biggest problem is that Silent Hill is, traditionally, an American setting. Specifically New England, aka My homeland. But I do have a huge predilection for J-horror, and so far it’s the thing I’m most excited about.

Townfall's teaser is so devoid of information that I don't really have much to say about it. Tentatively optimistic for it though, because I heard Observation was a good game and its the same developer.

Return To Silent Hill probably should have been done back in the game's hey-day. I think what's happening is that everyone is lining up to suck off Silent Hill 2, about ten years too late for it to be anything but pandering. But, whatever. Christoph Gans is responsible for both the best and worst Silent Hill movies, so we'll see what happens (I'm absolutely going to watch it on opening day. With popcorn. Probably more than once.)

Ascension looks dumb as rocks and its description as "a new interaction video streaming experience" solidifies that. I've never known streaming to be a good conduit for horror. At the same time, I've been known to play Dead By Daylight and get genuinely tense, but there's a world of difference between a multiplayer game with horror wallpaper and whatever the hell that was.

Opinion is staying completely still for Silent Hill Ascension, with added exasperation coming from the fact that "the viewers will dictate the story."

Unless the story ends with James and Harry going on their honeymoon in a Tuscan villa while Alex gets a nap and a cookie, I will have dictated nothing.

Henry likes high energy people, but he would prefer someone sort of lower energy so he can keep up with them. Someone who has a lot of time to spend with him, or who can take a lot of time off so they can go on trips together is a plus. At the same time, he would also prefer someone who values a good stay-in date. He prefers people who have a good smell to them (or a good taste in perfume/cologne) because this man is a cuddler.

Hiii! 💕💕 I’ve been… Alright. I’ve had an awful toothache for the past week, but I also have an appointment to get it looked at. Balance.

Angela has no idea why someone as vivacious as Maria is so interested in her, but that just redoubles Maria’s interest. Meanwhile, Maria is constantly saying things like “Thanks for putting up with me” when Angela would gladly put up with worse.

Angela will freak out at dudes that are harassing her girlfriend, and Maria will defend her from similar weirdos. They balance each other out in that way.

Maria will offer to do Angela's makeup for her; Angela will politely decline every single time. She might agree to Maria's offer to take her clothes shopping, especially if Maria can get her more comfortable with her own body.

Maria will spend time just staring at Angela sometimes. At first it weirded her out, and might have even set off some alarm bells for her, until Maria says "I like looking at pretty things. And you're pretty." And Angela loathes being objectified, but Maria talks about her like she's art rather than a show, and that's nice.

Angela will never go to Maria's job, which is fine with both of them. Maria probably doesn't want Angela to have to be in that environment, and Angela has the worst ideas about what Maria is doing in there in the first place. If she ever had to be there, she'd spend most of her time drinking water and trying to sketch Maria while she dances.

Maria's response to Angela's trauma is mostly to try and keep her grounded and reassured. She isn't going anywhere, she isn't going to try to force her to do something, and whatever plans they had are definitely on hold for now.

Holiday headcanons for Henry, Walter and Eileen?

Henry likes holidays because he gets to spend time with people without having to ask to spend time with people. He stays out of the way of the busier parts of holiday parties but takes pictures that everyone loves later.

Eileen is the one who tends to throw holiday parties. She absolutely goes shopping on Black Friday; she makes that an event and goes out with a bunch of people (Henry politely declined; he wants his sleep.)

Winter holidays are completely foreign to Walter. Joy? In his New England winter? It’s more likely than you think. He likes the togetherness, but has no idea how properly enjoy it, so he might need some kind of chaperone (a s/o, or Eileen in a pinch.)

I probably haven't, but lets gooo!

Alex wants someone comforting, someone that he feels safe around. It's not just that he wants to be able to sink to his knees and press his face to their chest; its that he wants to feel like he won't be judged for doing it. Someone compassionate, but also someone fun for him. Someone who can take him at his worst, but also remind him of his better qualities.

Murphy likes them nurturing, yes. He's also looking for commitment. He wants someone who is dependable and kind, and those are qualities that he's able to give in return (provided that he's not grieving over his son.) Physically, there's not much he doesn't like. Murphy isn't really picky about looks, but his opinion will always be swayed by how someone laughs.
