So I used to write a lot of imagines, especially for the sidemen and I kinda just stopped. This popped up in my head, so I thought I would write it out. It’s not the best but I spent a while on it so I thought why not post it? I’m branching out to Marvel characters and actors, and I’m going to try and get back in the hang of writing. Let me know if you like this, and please send me some requests I’d love to start writing again!
Chris Evans x Female! Reader
Female reader is younger, maybe 26-28. I wrote this with me in mind, and I’m 23 so.
Working for Marvel came with its perks. Being able to see the new comics coming to life on the movie screen in person, being around all the people who made your favorite movies, and of course the occasional actor that came across your path was also a bonus. Although you didn’t work out in the field per se, working on set, but you were behind the scenes in the office, working for Mr. Smith, one of the production managers at the headquarters in Burbank, California.
One morning, as you come into the office, you get a phone call from your boss, stating that he would be a few minutes late. It just so happened that it was the morning that he had a meeting with a certain Mr. Evans. As you wait on your boss to make his way to the office, you start a pot of coffee. While you are busy with that, a ‘ding’ signals that someone has come off the elevator, and the footsteps you hear makes you aware that they are coming your way. You spin around to see who it is- and yep you guessed it- it is none other than Chris Evans.
“Good morning Mr. Evans! How are you today?” You begin, as you pour yourself a cup. “I’m doing well, thank you.” He answers. You motion to the coffee, silently asking if he would want a cup, to which he nods in agreement.
“Mr. Smith is running a couple minutes late, you don’t mind waiting for a few minutes do you?” He shakes his head no, and you nod and fix him a cup of coffee. He comes over to put however many sugars and creamer he needs in it, and walks over to some chairs next to your desk to wait for Mr. Smith to arrive. You get yourself a cup, and sit at your desk.
You two make small talk as you wait. About five minutes later, Mr. Smith gets off the elevator, Chris being the first to notice.
“Evans!” “Smith!” The boys joyfully say to one another, embracing each other in a brotherly like hug. You giggle as they speak amongst themselves, eventually clearing your throat and stating, “I’m here too guys,” Mr. Smith, or Joe as you know him, rolled his eyes and laughed, stating, “Yeah yeah, no one cares.” Giving you a knowing look.
Since you began working there, you seemed to just click with your boss. Some people might think it is weird, but you two didn’t care, and you guys got your work done. He was basically your best friend.
“That’s why I gave him your coffee,” You told your boss, making your way to the pair. He stared at you, acting appalled, “You didn’t!” You both laughed as you pointed to the steaming cup of coffee sitting on his desk in his office. Chris just looked at you two with an amused smile on his face. Eventually, Joe and Chris began to make their way towards Joe’s office.
“It was nice meeting you Mr. Evans.” You stated, sitting back down at your desk. He had been giving you this look since he walked in, wondering if you knew who he was.
“You do know who I am, right Y/N?” He finally asked. You smirked, you work at Marvel, of course you know who the star spangled man with a plan was! You decided to tease him however, and state, “Of course! You are Mr. Chris Evans,” he started to smile, and then you continued, “Mr. Smith’s 9:15 appointment!” His face drops, as Joe chuckles lowly to himself, leading them both into his office, shutting the door with a click.
You begin your work for the day, not interrupting the meeting that is going on in the room behind you. Minutes pass, and you swear you hear your name coming from inside. However, as soon as you begin to listen in on the conversation, they hush their voices, making it near impossible to hear anything. You sigh and continue with your work.
Inside the office, Chris still believes you have no idea who he is. “I mean, she didn’t freak out, or even acknowledge that she knew who I was!” Chris says to Joe, exasperated. Joe just laughs, shaking his head. “She’s just toying with you Evans! She works for Marvel, of course she knows who you are. In fact, you just may be her favorite of the Marvel Chrises. She even has a little Pop Figure of Captain America sitting on her desk!” Chris shakes his head as he realizes how blinded he had been. In reality, he had just been staring at you, taking in all of your beautiful features, so he knew he had missed a lot. Joe may have slipped in how hot you thought the man was, making Chris blush, as the woman he began to develop a crush on in about fifteen minutes believed that he was attractive as well. The men continued their actual meeting, finishing up in less than an hour.
Chris walks back out of the office, noticing that you had barely moved, and were hastily typing away at your keyboard. “So you do know who I am.” He states, leaning casually against the wall. It startles you, as you were so focused on the words that you were typing. You look up at him under your eyelashes, and reply, “Yes? I told you who you were...” feigning innocence. Chris however cuts you off, “No no, none of that! You know WHO I am. And that doll on your desk proves it.” He states, pointing at it. You give up your act and start to giggle, and Chris chuckles alongside you.
“You! Stop flirting with my assistant. At least give her your number! And Y/N! Get back to work, and stop fraternizing with my clients!!” Joe walks out and almost yells, with a cheerful smile on his face. He has always thought of you as a little sister, and of course wants the best for you. And what’s better than dating Chris Evans?
You both laugh, and Chris asks you out to coffee. You accept, and get his number with it. Before Chris leaves, your boss states, “Didn’t your mother tell you to date men your own age?” Winking at you, noting the obvious age gap. You get up, and begin your way down the corridor to file some paper, and reply, “No, but she did tell me to follow my dreams.” You wink at Chris, and turn and walk away, not without feeling the intense gaze that is on your bottom, and hearing the laughs coming from your boss.
