Wooboy have I been back on my SoulCalibur shit. With SCVI out (get the fucking game, it’s great) and finding out that they confirmed Raphael was Nightmare in SCV and that former hosts of Nightmare end up having an ashen arm where the mutated arm was, I decided to draw SCV Raphael with the ashen arm. Because yes. Once more I posted a process from sketch, to inks, to flats, to shades and then the final.

Took 3.75 hours in Clip Studio Paint using an XP15 tablet.

I missed last year, but here’s this year’s Halloween piece. Because I’m so hyped for Soul Calibur VI, here’s me exploring what Namco Bandai didn’t. Raphael’s story in SCV was a lot more interesting when you read the artbook along with the bare bones the game gave you. Wandering vagabond vampire is a go. Set in his forest at night stage.

I was trying to draw Jubes being all close with Jono and the pose ended up weirdly not intimate at all, but I still really liked how it came out. Anyway bless @christinastrain for making one of my Jubilee ships canon. Only way I could be happier is if my ot3 was canon. Anyway, I used Dev Patel as a reference for Jono because I blame @mr-rob0t for planting that idea in my head. I will never unsee it.
