Saturday Out: A Memorable Pi Day
Actually my whole Saturday morning until afternoon is already planned but what happened after were just so random and unexpected.
The night before was already jam-packed since it was the 4th anniversary of our batch in GE Club so we had dinner then Timezone after. So basically, I went back in the dorm at almost midnight on that Friday evening.
Saturday, my PL woke me up saying that we must meet at 9 am in Philcoa because we were going to have an outreach in PGH for the kid patients with cancer. It was my first time actually seeing kids with cancer, tumor, leukemia or whatever sickness they call it, and their parents and families suffering because of that. And I am thankful to God for giving me this opportunity to be a blessing for them even just by praying for them and some apples. We were able to talk to some and honestly I do not know the right words to say to comfort them but I hope that our prayers could give them strength in some way.
After our outreach in PGH, ate Mai accompanied me in going to Baclaran Church for my Viseta Iglesia. It was my third church so far and I am really happy that I as able to go there finally. Although it was really tiring because it was a very hot day and it was a little bit far from PGH (or maybe because of the traffic). But anyway, it was nice seeing the church and being able to pray there. It was a very worth experience. :) All thanks to my very supportive PL.
Then finally, we went back to UP. It was already 6:30 when I reached the dorm. Then Hazel texted me that we’re going to have dinner at 7pm. So basically I just washed up, rest a bit, changed to sandals (because I was wearing shoes the whole day) and then I left the dorm again.
It’s been long since I had dinner with my high school friends again so I could not miss this dinner with them. It was fun catching up with Mado, Bryan, April, Hazel and kuya Arvin even for awhile. It is always worth it being with them. :)
The dinner ended at around 9pm I think and we have to head back to the dorm now because there are less Ikot jeeps at those hour. Then on our way back we met Tere, the birthday girl the day before (which is Friday) and she invited us to have some ice cream. Although it may be late, of course we agreed since it was her birthday and it’s okay since it will just be some hang out over an ice cream. So I guess my night hasn't ended yet.
But knowing Teresa, she invited us to have some drink which I really disagreed to since I need to study for an exam and I really want to rest after the long day. But honestly it was really hard to say no to this people (but not in a negative way). I've known them since high school and I’m sure that I’m always safe when I’m with them. Just like what Hazel said, it’s really hard to say no to you’re high school friends when being invited to this things. And I could not really do anything because I know they won’t let me go anyway so I just come with them and enjoy the night. After some hours, I started feeling dizzy because I really have low tolerance in alcohol and invited them to go home. April and I went home first because I just really want to lay down and sleep at that moment. And that how my night (or day) really ended. It was already 12:40 am when I came back in the dorm.
It was indeed a long, tiring yet productive and fun day, From morning till 12:40 am past midnight, it was a day full of many things. Come to think of it, yesterday is also Pi Day. So I guess, I will never forget this very memorable Pi Day. :)
