2018 Recap♥
Hello Tumblr.
It’s been a very long and busy year. I haven’t been logging in as often as I would like to because life got so busy, but I couldn’t miss making another yearly recap. It is a tradition here on my blog to make a yearly recap. This is solely for me to reread and look back on. Anyone interested may read it as well since this blog is public.
Let’s start in January of 2018 shall we? January was a tough month, I was left to make the hardest decision I have ever made. Deciding to let someone go wasn’t easy but it was the right thing to do. We outgrew each other and honestly, the way we viewed each other and the importance of our relationship just wasn’t on the same page anymore. Although it was a tough decision, I knew it was the right one. I don’t think I will go back on it, maybe one day things can work out, but as of now... I like the way things are. Life is much easier and better. January flew by quick, then onto February. February was a busy month, I was gathering my hiring packet together and going on my first official teacher interview. I was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. Honestly, the only interview that I will forever remember was the toughest one I recieved. It was tough but it helped prepared me for more ahead.
March came around, it was John’s birthday and we celebrated it with his family and some friends. It was great to catch up and just be with people who knew how to have a great time. April came rolling in and I still haven’t landed a job. I began to rush and felt like I was not good enough. At the same time, John and I were planning a trip to San Diego with Shelby and Matt. We went on the trip and it was a success. Went bar hopping in Gas Lamp, visited a few places and ate good food! It was a blast. Once I was back, during mid May, I got called in for an interview at a school for a 2nd grade position. I was nervous and knew that I needed this job. I had big plans ahead and I couldn’t afford to be jobless in the coming months. Of course I nailed the job, I was officially hired as a second grade teacher. I began saving up for my classroom, buying books from garage sales for my class library, and planning out how I’m going to survive the first week of school.
During all of this, John and I decided to go camping the first week of June. It was our first camping trip together. We went with my cousins and it was a blast. Planning on making that a tradition, every summer, we must all go camping together. Make food by the fire, tell scary stories, play games, go hiking, fishing, and swimming! The rest of my summer consisted of me planning, buying, and prepping for my first job ever. I met my team, I was ecstatic and I was ready to set my room up. It took me about two weeks to set my room up, it was nice to have friends there to help me :)
From there, I entered the real life of an elementary teacher... Working after hours, prepping, planning, grading, and setting up materials. I have never felt so tired in my life, but it is also so rewarding. It feels great to see the progress that my students are making, the relationships that I’ve created with them, and all the fun times we’ve shared so far. I’m not going to lie, sometimes I come home and I don’t want tomorrow to come because I’m exhausted, but I do love my job. Just one more week and I can finally go on my winter break! I am beyond excited!! Something great also happened this month...I’ve been saving up and I am finally going to move out with my boyfriend. It will be a whole new journey and I am beyond excited as well. I can’t wait to decorate and just be on my own with him. Things are coming together and I couldn’t be happier about all of my life decisions that has taken me to where I am today. I am grateful and blessed. I can’t wait for the new year! I hope everyone is having a great year and I hope you nothing but good health.
p.s.
Love yourself, know what you are worth and how much you are valued. Know when to let go and when to move on. Life has so much to offer you, you just need to take that first step.
It’s been a while, life got busy. Having a week away from work has really been good to me. 😌 How are you Tumblr?

Finding people who just simply enjoy being around you for who you are is truly the best. The feeling of not worrying about your actions and what you say around them is so good. Just knowing that you can be yourself and they won’t judge you whatsoever is the best. There’s no obligations and no conditions that comes along with the friendship because you are loved just the way you are. :)
