From PAWS (Pets Are Worth Saving) of Alabama: https://www.instagram.com/p/DanMdMZmk8N/?img_index=1 We've been relatively quiet on social media lately — which generally means that we're busier than ever behind the scenes. In the last two weeks we've been deaking with several urgent and emergent cases — cats facing euthanasia because their owner passed, a tiny kitten with twisted front legs, a heartworm+ dog (despite being closed to dog intakes), several kittens with severe upper respiratory infections, a kitten with such severe internal injuries that a compassionate goodbye was the kindest gift we could give, a laboring mama cat in apparent distress, and the list goes on. We haven't even had a chance to introduce most of these babies yet because we've been scrambling to coordinate rescues, line up fosters, get everyone vetted, deal with unexpected emergency vet trips, keep supplies stocked and distributed, provide the daily hands-on care for our own dozens of fosters, and so much more. We are just a small, 2-person run rescue, and juggling the 24/7 responsibilities of rescue life along with our own spouses, kids, households, and the tasks of every day life is…..a lot. On top of that, rescue comes with a steep price tag and we are constantly struggling to figure out how to pay for the care of all of these sweet souls. One of our supporters reached out yesterday with a generous offer: they'll match up to $100 in donations. If we raise the full $200, that covers standard vetting — deworming, flea treatment, rabies and FVRCP vaccines, and spay/neuter — for one cat. Just yesterday we took in a bonded pair whose owner had passed away, and they were facing euthanasia. Raising the funds to cover care for even one of them would mean so much. If you're able to help, you can donate via PayPal, Venmo, through the “donate link” on our Facebook and Instagram profiles, directly to one of our partner vets, or by check. Every dollar gets matched up to $100, so it goes twice as far right now. In the midst of kitten season, that is a tremendous blessing. Thank you for your support, always.❤️
