Kash!! How have you been? tis' I, the last anon you replied to
I just felt like blabbering and thought to show up here. I haven't been feeling okay lately. My finals are going on (a phase you already have been through) and I just don't feel good, especially today. I've been trying my best for a long time now but things aren't just working out like the way I want. Everything's really off rn and IDK what to do. I've been trying to improve academically since 2023 but it just got worse last year. I'm trying my best, giving my 100% yet I'm not able to bring a change. It's really suffocating. And either I'm over confident or have no confidence at all.
Sorry for disturbing you. I just felt like venting
This is actually so cool because I never get an anon on Tumblr and I keep waiting for someone who’d send me one, and then there’s this one person you who knows my name and everything. It genuinely feels like some internet book moment, like there’s this one person somewhere in the corner of the world who just… shows up here to talk to me. That’s really sweet.🤍
And I get what you’re saying. Academic validation can feel really important, and it’s frustrating when you’re giving your 100% but the results don’t look the way you hoped. I actually relate to that a lot. Last year I also tried my best and my scores only got only a tiny bit better than the year before. Sometimes it feels unfair when effort and outcome don’t match.
But something I’ve realised is that it’s not really a race. No matter which path we end up taking, the goal is the same, a happy ending and a life that feels good to live. There are so many different routes to get there.
A few study things that help me personally, in case they help you too:
• Try deactivating Instagram or social media for a while (a week or two beofre exams). It genuinely helps a lot. Once you do it, sometimes you don’t even wanna go back.
• If you need a break, just sit with yourself for a bit or scroll through Pinterest, it’s way more peaceful.
• Make pretty notes so you actually want to study.
• Quiz yourself a lot you can ask ChatGPT (prompt: every question ever that can exist from this text) to test you or make your own questions and take your own little tests.
• You can look at notes online, but I’d still suggest writing them again in your own notebook.
• Study offline as much as possible, pen and paper really helps memory.
• Use tiny paper cards for important points and ALWAYS do previous year questions.
And one thing that works really well: after you make detailed notes and learn everything, try making them again (using memeory) but smaller. Use abbreviations, tables, diagrams, try fitting an entire chapter or unit into just 3–5 pages. It forces your brain to really understand what’s important and what you need to revise. You can also use those tiny notes for revision.
You’re not disturbing me at all. I’m actually really glad you came here and talked. I hope your finals go easier on you, and please be a little gentle with yourself during this phase. Keep treating yourself with something sweet during the process.
Also… stay hydrated too. :)
