a memento, and a well-intentioned change of perspective

Honestly, I can’t wait for that one awkward family dinner conversation, where Ty casually mentions the death of Benedick Lightwood no Lightworm. He was probably wondering what kind of misadventure, cost him his life, and Felt really bad for him for the longest time. That was until…
Tessa and Jem almost choked on their steak, and had to go grab a glass of water. After dinner, they set Kit, Ty and Mina down and told them all about demon pox, the person who discovered it and Benedict's dissent into a demon.
To honor Will and keep his memory alive, they started the tradition of retelling Benedick’s story every year. Eventually Ty with the assistant of Tessa, wrote a incredibly famous paper on demon pox and credited Will as one of their co-authors.
“Pause you who read this, and think for a moment of the long chain of iron or gold, of thorns or flowers, that would never have bound you, but for the formation of the first link on one memorable day.”
— Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
I hate the way fandoms treat transmasc headcanons, especially if that headcanon is about a character who’s canonically a woman. They act like headcanoning a woman as a transmasculine person is taking away from women’s stories and representation. Some trans guy headcanoning your fav girlboss as a trans man isn’t some attack on feminism, Susan. Calm down.
You know I think it is ridiculous that Nico never interracted with Beckendorf and Tyson on canon, they would treat the traumatized child so well and be his support system.
If it does help you feel better, I absolutely adore this little scene of Beckendorf and 11-year-old Nico in this specific Lukethan fanfic whose every line warms me to the core.
(There’s more in the fic btw)
so what do you think happened between lucie and cordelia that made lucie write the wicked queen cordelia?
here's some of my ideas.
1. the james/cordelia/matthew story overstayes its welcome even more and lucie gets upset that cordelia left her bother and run away with matthew.
2. cordelia isn't happy with lucie bringing jesse back to life. she can't understand why lucie broke the law.
3. cordelia is now lilith's palain and because of that she feels like she's unworthy of being lucie's parabatai. but because of our favourite trope ever, miscommunication, lucie assumes daisy doesn't want to be parabatai with her after what she did.
I am sad coz Nico will come in 3rd season.
But Reyna and Hylla will come in 2nd season and I am fucking excited to see both of my queens and build shrines for them and leave offerings for them and sing songs in their honor and etc etc etc etc etc........

I know like everyone is taking about the casting of Annabeth as black, which I'm more than ok with. but ever since she was cast, I know we've all seen the blatant racism, but I've also noticed art of white Annabeth (still a valid interpretation) or white cosplayers are getting flooded with comments along the lines of
"this is EXACTLY how I pictured Annabeth"
"this is MY Annabeth"
"the true Annabeth"
we all know what you are trying to communicate even if you aren't saying it diesctly. stop it.
and for everyone who is saying "I'd be just as upset is they casted a POC character as white!" I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you would.
but those characters race is important.
for representation.
for their background
it's important that Leo is Mexican because his grandfather went to a school for colored children, where he met Hazel.
it's important that Hazel is black because of the culture shock she gets when she comes to the 2000s in terms of racism.
it's important that Frank is Chinese because it is how he is decended from Neptune.
it's important that Piper is Cherokee because she carries all the lessons and parables she got from her uncle with her throughout her story.
it's not important that Annabeth is white because the only thing important about her appearance is that people underestimate her because of it. you know a demographic that is often disrespected and underestimated for their appearance? black people, especially black women.
Leah Jeffries is not a "diversity hire" and it absolutely disgusting behavior to say she is. she is a twelve year old girl who already has an acting career and worked hard to get where she is.
Leah, i can not wait to see what you'll do with Annabeth.
I tried new brushes!
