This is something that changes as I like to switch things up sometimes, but lately I've mostly been using the Shale Brush in Procreate

What canvas sizes do you usually work with?

Depends on the drawing, but usually either A4 format (2480 x 3508 pixels) or a square canvas (ca 2000x2000 pixels). As a rule of thumb, I rarely go lower than 1000 pixels on either side. I always use 300 dpi.

Hey I’ve been reading you separated au, and I just love it. I really enjoy how you’ve done the disaster twins, and how Leo was the first one to turn to Donnie’s side, and just full on bond. Raph was close after, but Leo literally went to Donnie to team up. Just, I really enjoy this au, and I wonder if there is going to be more interactions with specifically the disaster twins? Sorry I just really enjoy them. Also what inspired you to make this au? Also if someone wanted to make like a fic inspired by this, would it be ok as long as they included you as the inspiration? Anyways, thank you for making this wonderful au, and have a wonderful day!

What initially inspired me to make the AU was that I had seen a lot of different separated AUs in the rottmnt fandom where Donnie was raised by one bad guy or another, but I'd never seen an AU where he was the one turtle raised by Splinter while his brothers were all raised by an antagonist. It started of as just that basic premise, but then it just kept developing from there as I got more ideas to explore. And I really enjoy the twins in the AU too, so I'm glad you do as well :D

Anyway, I'm completely fine with people taking inspiration from my AU. I've taken a lot of inspiration from, well the original show obviously, but also other AUs, and I think people in fandoms inspiring each other is a big appeal of fandom creations in the first place.

As for me making more TSAU related stuff, while this AU is still very dear to me, my focus is currently with other stuff right now. I might return to the AU one day, but I don't wanna promise anything. That being said, this ask did inspire me to at least doodle some TSAU disaster twins because I do still love them

I just binged your seperated rottmnt au and WOAH it's amazing!!! It has also left me burning to know - what did Casey Jr say to (main character syndrome) Mikey? I just watched the movie and he was brutal to Leo so I'm so curious to how he knocked some sense into Mikey's head (especially since he's a human. . . and we all know how he feels about humanity)

Hmm, I haven't really thought about what specifcally CJ said to Mikey, but as you pointed out he kinda completely went off on Leo in canon and I'd imagine it would be similar in the AU. He'd probably target Mikey's hero-complex and point out that Mikey is supposed to be the savior of the world yet all he's been doing is making things worse. Considering Mikey has based his entire personality on being a hero, having this pointed out to him is a much needed wake-up call, him being able to see the direct consequences of his mistakes also helps him realize that clearly his methods need to change.

Honestly I think Mikey learning that him and CJ were close in the future would also be a big factor in changing his mind. At the beginning of the events of the movie Mikey is being really stubborn about holding on to his previous beliefs despite that the rest of his family, even Draxum, are becoming more open-minded about humans. Mikey has resented humanity his entire life so it's hard for him to imagine a scenario where he doesnt. He initally doesn't change because he doesn't even really wanna try to, but learning that he does change in CJ's timeline makes it clear that it is an option for him. It's not something he immediately accepts, but CJ's entire rant kinda forces him to.

does sep au future mikey also end up overusing his powers and aging a lot? I imagine it's to a lesser degree than canon cuz he's gotten way more training but it's probably still pretty rough out there in the apocalypse

Okay so this ask is like a month old, sorry anon I missed it 😭

Anyway! Because Mikey has had way more training with his mystic powers, specifcally having trained by Draxum who is also very skilled, Mikey definitely has a better control over his magic-usage. He is still overworked af haha, so he has accelarated his aging somewhat, but not as much as in canon, so you're pretty much right anon

What this means for his hair is that while it has gone gray, he hasn't gotten a baldspot yet, good for him! 👍
