Never Too Much
They sometimes tell us to dim our light- because it hurts their eyes, or maybe it makes them feel dim. They ask you to hold the music of your voice so that it doesn’t echo so violently. What they don’t know is that, so, so often, we are that light because we know what it is like to be left blundering, in the dark- with the weight of silence as our only company. Perhaps you have always known you were meant to guide the lost. or perhaps you learned the hard way, that if nobody else will shine so bright we must. So do not dim your light, or shorten your breath, or hold your tongue. Bare your teeth, in a fierce and glorious smile of furious wonder and love, and shine so bright you leave us seeing stars, even when our own world is dark.
