I wish I could write it, but I can’t help but think of the fact that in Highlander Duncan MacLeod spent half the year in Paris. And then I think of Booker going back to Paris after his banishment.

So now imagine depressed Duncan MacLeod, post Richie’s death and Ahriman,  (and possibly Connor’s death, if you you know, actually want to consider that movie as canon, which I don’t, but you do you) meeting depressed Booker after his betrayal of the team. And Joe and Methos dealing with the two of them as they cope with their guilt and start getting therapy together.

Someone on the internet described Andy as a female Methos, and I knew that I would have to show up.  This is an important addition to this blog.

Yeah, one of the best.

I will never, ever be over the fact that Methos left Alexa, a woman he loves desperately, a woman who is dying, and has only days left, in Athens, while he came back to save MacLeod from the dark quickening. Absolutely a big deal.

I don’t know how many people here remember this show from the nineties called Highlander. It was pretty much the show that first got me online, and the first one I wrote fanfics about.

For those deprived people who haven’t got a clue what I’m talking about. Highlander was based on a movie about a group of people who couldn’t die unless they got their heads chopped off. And they would go around through the ages fighting one another until only one of them remained who would gain a mysterious ‘prize’.

Three of the movies sequels tried to show what the prize was supposed to be, but well, most people agree that aside of the series, only the first and third movie actually matter for canon*g*

Uhm, that’s beside the point.

I was just thinking of what it would be like for Immortals in the 'In the Flesh’ verse.Imagine if someone died, just before the Rising started, and they got back up. And people would think they’re one of the undead. (not everyone seems to be all that good at keeping 'reality’ apart from things they’ve seen in the movies.

Or how would immortals react to the undead, as in eternally alive compared to the partially dead… Especially when you think of someone like Methos, who’s 5.000 years old. Would he have seen something like the Rising before? And what would it be like if he hadn’t.

Or someone like Duncan who would have probably fought along the HVF, only to then realize that all the people he killed could have been saved… (and what if one of them was Joe Dawson)

Just having lots and lots of thoughts.

In the back of my head, I keep thinking about Methos as the keeper of arcane knowledge. (Wasn’t there a magic pool that cured Duncan of his dark quickening?)  On the one hand, I like an AU where Methos would be like oh of course werewolves, and vampires and elves and fairies are all real.  On the other hand, “Oh shit.  There is something new under the sun.” ups the terror aspect.

I love how we constantly get villains turning to heroes or at least to the good side because of deep dramatic moments, love, hidden truths or whatever and then we have Methos from Highlander who spent hundreds of years as a villain slaughtering people on three continents and reaching literally mythological status and then suddenly he goes:” Holy shit books are so much more fun then killing. Being a murderous warlord is so boring compared to reading!”

It feels like the age of fandom mixes may have fallen apart.  This song is giving me Duncan/Methos thought this morning.  Oh Methos, that’s not a great pick up line, but it is an honest one.
