There are many different Greek gods that I think would work for Ryland Grace’s godly parent so I’m gonna rant about it. (Riordanverse au ig? But it’s only the Greek gods because I’ve only read up to trials of Apollo)

Cabin 3 - Poseidon: the god of the seas, storms, earthquakes, droughts, vegetation, and navigation. I think it’s very funny to think about a son of Poseidon writing a paper about how water isn’t required for life. But other than that, navigation. He navigates the shit out of the Hail Mary’s route. I know technically cabin 3 only has expertise in naval navigation but yk.

Cabin 4 - Demeter: the goddess of agriculture, the Earth, and the seasons. Yeah. He’s the guy who kept the Earth from a mass extinction event. Makes sense to me.

Cabin 6 - Athena: the goddess of wisdom, intelligence, civilization, mathematics, strategy, and defensive warfare. We know he’s smart so. I feel like this is a given. But also math!! Bro was doing math before he remembered his name because gravity pissed him off.

Cabin 7 - Apollo: the god of the sun, medicine, plague, music, reason, knowledge, and is known to be the protector of the young. This is my personal favorite for this au(?) Like. He keeps the sun from dimming wtf. The dude has a doctorate so that also gets the reason and knowledge part down. With the music part, his best friend literally speaks in music notes. If he was the son of Apollo, I’d bet that would mean he’d catch onto Eridian language faster and I like the idea of that. I know his petty ass would love to give Dr. Staggering Waste of Carbon a common cold. Also protector of the young!! He loves kids and comes back to the project to protect them from the apocalypse.

Cabin 10 - Aphrodite: the goddess of love, beauty, desire, war, navigation, and passion. Aro/ace children of Aphrodite are cool as fuck. Additionally, he’s a very charming guy. People like him. In a friendly way and in romantic ways. Also navigation again! This isn’t only naval navigation so it fits even better. He’s very passionate about his opinions too.

Cabin 11 - Hermes: the god of travelers, speed, cunning, wit, and alchemy. He’s been places. To other planets and solar systems. If that’s not a traveler idk what is. And. That’s it, really. He’s smart, but not really cunning. I just thought the traveler bit was cool.

Cabin 14 - Iris: the goddess of rainbows, peace, awe, happiness, and communication. Remember that scene from the movie when he’s pinned to the ground looking up at the rainbow? Yeah. That. But also, he is in awe of so many things, like how astrophage functions, Eridian biology, and life in general. I like the communication aspect as well because he was the first person to converse with intelligent alien life.

Cabin 15 - Hypnos: the god of sleep and memories. This is only on this list because I find it funny. Yk. Because he was in a coma for four years and lost his memory. (Okay it’s not that funny at all, but it’s amusing enough to me to not remove this bullet point.)

The Other Option. He’s fully mortal, but can see through the mist. I think this would lead to him trying to help any demigod kids he comes across.

i think ryland would grow to understand stratt’s choice with time, and even thank her logic of it because it led to his meeting of rocky, but i dont think he’d ever really forgive her for what she did to him

once again annoyed by every single teen wolf tiktok edit that uses the lies of omission sciles fight. i know it's expecting a lot for tiktoks to be anything deeper than vaguely angsty but i just dont understand how you can look at scott's sad wet puppy dog eyes as stiles yells at him and come out of it thinking that stiles is the only one who got hurt by this interaction. please. i keep clicking on them because im just waiting for that one bright, shining moment when it's about how much scott is hurt, rather than about how sad stiles is that scott didn't like him killing someone (or how much their friendship suffered from it), but so far i have been continually disappointed

what’s ur hottest teen wolf take?

This one was tough.

My first instinct was to point out things that large sections of fandom ignore and rewrite: Scott's brilliant and kind, Scott and Allison are the leads (something TPTB forgot to the series' detriment), Stiles loves Scott, Stiles has some of the most toxic moments on the show, Derek does cruel things on purpose, yadda yadda. But none of those were hitting. The people that understand fandom's racism and sexism will get that these are basic facts and the people who refuse to confront fandom's problems will continue to bury their heads in the sand. I simply resent having to frame basic facts as hot takes because of fandom poison. I shan't!

Then there are takes that would be spicy to some parts of fandom but complete non-events to others because of how big the split is between the different parts of fandoms. The streams don't cross. A hot take about Brett, for instance--that the flashback scene in 6b was character assassination completely at odds with what they'd shown before--will simply not register for the majority of fandom that never watched past 3b. A truly hot Teen Wolf take--the hottest take--should piss off everyone, right? It's about equality. It's about community. It's about the time-honored tradition of being annoying.

This stumped me, dear anon. This fandom is so big and so old and so corroded by fanon that it seemed impossible we'd ever find common ground. Ours is a house divided.

And then it hit me. There was one thing every section of fandom agreed on, one tiny bit of ground upon which we all stood. Going against it would create a take everyone would understand--and disagree with. It was a take so incendiary it even pissed me off. But I have to admit it's true:

Sometimes, Jeff Davis actually is a gift.

He refused to include vampires even though it was the trenches of the 2010s. He hated love triangles. He wanted Deaton to be gay. He mocked fandom's obnoxious insistence that Stiles take up Scott's bat and red hoodie by having Stiles break the bat as soon as he tried to use it. Davis even sacrificed a producer credit in order to get more time to film the most iconic scene to ever grace the silver screen: "Where are you getting your juice?"

Hate the guy all you want--and I do--but he did that for us. He gave us the juice.

One thing I wish I saw more of, was meta and/or fics, comparing Eva Stratt to Cecil Stedman of Invincible.

Because the two of them are just so alike character wise.

Eva, like Cecil, is essentially a good person, who has to push their morals aside, to do bad to evil, to horrible things, to save countless lives. Even to people they care about, and/or respect.

They have to come up with solutions for problems, that others don't even think about. They also know they'll have to be the scapegoat, 'because' they had the responsibility to make those choices. And they'd rather be seen as the bad guy, rather than allow innocents to suffer.

They don't mind occasionally enjoying the small pleasures of the position, but when it comes down to it, their responsibility to protect as many lives as they can come first.

Like Cecil had to learn, you can be the good guy, or you can be the guy who saves the world, you can't be both. And yet both are astonished when people like Mark for Cecil, and Grace for Eva, do manage to try and focus on doing the right thing first and foremost. Because they wish they could be that idealistic, they just know they can't be.

I like to think that Stiles gets jealous whenever another dude makes Scott laugh. He has to be the funniest man he knows and if another guy is having Scott hunched over from laughter his jealous ass is taking that as a challenge (Scott knows this and finds it very amusing).
