On Chastity

Unpopular opinion:

The crowdsourcing of chastity is a bad thing. I see far too many posts like ‘I’ve got him in a cage, every retweet/reblog is another 24 hours’ with hundreds of retweet/reblogs on them. It’s a sign of bad domming and it’s developed a culture of subs on twitter and tumblr screaming for the pain of other subs, neither of which benefits anyone. Doms need to be Doms, subs: shut up and pray its not you.

It’s also ridiculous levels of attention whoring, and yes I understand it’s me saying this.

The length of time a boy can spend locked depends on a huge range of factors - his experience with chastity, his baseline sexual needs, his penis size and shape, the comfort of his cage, his social situation, his psychological stability: none of which can be defined by an outside audience.

Balancing these factors is the role of the Dom. The needs of the sub come first.

Boys needs > My needs > My wants > Boys wants

The Dom must set aside what he and sub may want (attention) in favour of level headed, evidence based goal setting.

Let him wear it during a session, feel how he gets off on being controlled and can’t touch himself. Then take it off and let him cum. At another time, approach him with the cage and suggest a day at work wearing it. Cages are quite discreet and won’t be seen by others, but it will help remind him of his true priorities in life.

Then later still, suggest he wear it overnight. Be there for him during this and prepare for a sleepless night. In time: 3 days, 7 days, 10 days. 14 days. Build it up slowly.

A beginning

I used to treat being a dom as a natural thing. That is, one could just rock up to a meet, abuse the sub, take what I wanted and walk away. Needless to say, I used to leave a lot of upset boys behind me, and I really feel like, while most of my scenes were ‘successful’ (how we define successful can be discussed, but for this instance i mean ‘all parties were happy with the outcome’), they missed the potential for what I could get out of the subs. I didn’t see a subs potential as important back then. I note now how I have grown up as a dom.

I have a way of seeing things today which is quite different and revolves around the concept of ‘duty’. A lot of doms talk a big talk about subs and their duty to serve. One such Dom tried to insult me once by calling me a ‘Service Dom’, (as if looking after the needs of one submissives was a negative characteristic). This led me to start thinking about how we define domination, what the roles and duties of a Dom are, and how one can then set out to carry out those roles and duties to the highest standard. I’m not interested in being alright at what I do. My behaviour must be optimal. To optimise, we must study.

So, with that I’m going to be writing/sharing thoughts on here for other doms to read and discuss, and needless to say the subs will fall into orbit and treat this as a way to strain their little cages. That said, I’m not writing this for any other real purpose than to help me clarify in my own head how to be the best dom I can be for the boys in my life. They serve me, and in turn I look after them.
