Guys I lost my Twitter account... 😭
Thats my new one <:D
Artist and animation student | she/he/they | 🍫🧩 | open for commissions | lost my old account :(
Self-criticism of my own storytelling because I feel bad about myself
My intention when creating a story in relation to the original work is to create a coherent and realistic version of the original, erasing the fallacies but not ignoring the primary data.
I have gone far enough in my imagination that I cannot erase my mistakes and look at them (Mello and Near) differently. They are already very complex and well-written (as I will allow myself to say, because I put an enormous amount of thought into them), but it still doesn't change the fact that I just adjust them to my needs, trying to create something big while actually just satisfying myself instead of describing a 'life form' I wanted to portray.. People are correct to imagine Near as autistic and Mello as a narcissist (though they all fail at that, because he fits the "husbando" type better), and then they ship them with people they realistically would never even look at. Some people headcanon Near as having chronic pain, based on how he stands and walks. It is actually such a good idea because autism and chronic pain are linked. As is chronic pain and dissociation (I have talked with real people who have DID/OSDD, and it is very, very present). But no, what I did is fetishize my characters, both of them. I made them likable, attractive, intelligent, and even when suffering, easy on eyes.
If Near has oculocutaneous albinism, why didn't I make him cross-eyed? Most people with that type of albinism are cross-eyed, or at least the majority. No, I had to make him pretty. So yeah, I did what most of the people in the fandom do. I took characters and idealized them so that I could daydream, relate, and feel good about myself, then called them "like real people". I didn't invest anything in them. Daydreaming in that form is an escapism from reality and daily suffering. If that is someone's goal, I understand and that's alright, but it's not mine (at last not in theory but I'm hypocritical). The problem arises when I say I "don't want to make fantasy" and "I want to describe a part of a human experience," but then put a heavy makeup on the characters to make them more likable for myself. That's hypocrisy. Because one thing is wanting to enjoy an idealized piece of fiction, and another is calling yourself "serious" about the realism of your story and vision.
These guys keep appearing in my head while I am trying to sleep and I have to get up and draw so I can properly rest, damn...
Well, headcanon time!!! I kinda enjoy that "religious Mello" theory.
Listen, what if: Mello is religious, though not in the sense of believing that "God created the universe"; rather, for him, it is something more personal—something that guides his morality and also soothes his fear of death and of existence itself lacking a purpose.
So, upon joining the mafia and starting to do things that are clearly questionable, he clings to his beliefs, convincing himself somehow that it will all be worth it in the end—even though he knows full well that his ultimate goal is quite selfish...
Well, this is all pretty deep for a post featuring such dumb drawings, isn't it? wwww, well, all that so I could explain WHY I personally think he would struggle to accept his sexuality, period. (it was not that hard, it could've been a lot shorter...)
your Near's long hair designs fascinate me thank you
Thank you :>
I love drawing his messy hair
I was planning to add Matt, but I guess Near must have been too big a thought in Mello's inferiority-ridden mind even in his deathbed...
this is my vent art

Near doddle!
A break from all of my mellodramattic art to play around with some colors
My remake of the very well known Paprika Poster
Lonely at the top
It’s been really hot lately, so I gotta make em miserable too
I honestly think Near sunburns easily, so I drew him that way
Genuinely my only contribution for now
A series of Death Note characters dressed up I’m Sanrio themed pyjamas.
On my insta I decided to run a 1v1 vote to pick the best out of the 7 character designs. I plan to make a fully illustration (or maybe a card or sticker) with whichever character wins.
Rigging that vote if encouraged, if you’re interested I have the same username on that.
I’d do the vote on here as well, but I’m not sure how so I apologise
I’m not very knowledgeable about Sanrio characters, I just made this to he silly, constructive criticism is always appropriated!
I need to DRAW MORE NEAR AND MERONIA STUFF THIS FANDOM IS DYING I NEED TO GET BACK TO MY ROOTS RIGHT NOW‼️‼️‼️
