can i HIGHLY reccomend the Nevermoor series by Jessica Townsend. It honestly fills that same magic craving for me and honestly is better in my opinion. Definitely one of my favorite book series.

it has a lot of stuff similar to harry potter. A child growing up in a family that hates her before being whisked away to a magical land by a strange and loving man. A magical hotel where rooms and hallways and places change. A secretive society where you pass trials to enter, magical animals, dragons, and found family. An evil magical man hated by all, and a connection between him and the main character.

its all sorts and types of magic though, not “wave your wand and cast a spell” but very cool and wonderful and amazing

i just reread them as the fourth one in the series came out recently, and remembered how much i love them. Seriously go read them right now theyre so good
