I never expected groundbreaking things from rivals. It’s entertaining, has decent actors and terrible writing but that’s okay for a (tragic,sexy,?) comedy.

I didn’t expect it to DISAPPOINT me so deeply, though. I was mostly indifferent so far, only followed it half heartedly, skipped scenes, etc. because of course it’s valid to like/don’t like media.

But to take a middle aged sapphic coded character and kill her off without ANY need (it’s not in the books either) and to then end it solely on her scumbag husband‘s reaction left me speechless and angry.

I know it may not be „that deep“ for some but as a queer woman in today‘s society it just feels like a slap in the face. We finally get an admirable, older lesbian character (unexpected from a show like this) just to have her killed for shock value.

If she’s truly dead and not faking her death, then thanks rivals for truly reviving the 80s 🫠 not like society‘s progressed towards those values in the last few years anyway …
