I remember when I lived in cricklewood, London for about 4 months when I was at uni. As soon as it got dark you didn’t walk to the shops on your own. I know full well when one of us needed to go to the shop about 6/8 of us would go and we’d get some of the lads to come with us.

I remember when I used to work the late shift at build a bear and it was dark when I got off the bus, my mum or dad would normally meet me off the bus to walk the 5 minute walk home.

Every time I meet up with friends no matter what time of day it is I text them to tell them I’m home and the same when I leave my parents even if I’m driving my mum always tells me to drive safe and text when I’m back. When I used to walk home from my grandparents I had to ring my grandma the moment I got home if not she would get so worried. Even when she rang a taxi for me because it was getting dark.

I don’t walk to the shop literally around the corner from out house when it’s dark and my boyfriend is working late.
