look ma i’m doing it twice in a row! i was tagged by my beloved @imogenkol to share what i’m working on and i fear all i have for you this week is more far cry 5 slop because i am still there. i’m sorry.
tag list: @statichvm @moonflowcr @kyberinfinitygems @d-esmond @risingsh0t @chyrstis @galfrey @tadej-pogacar
i said it was only fc5 slop but actually here’s an isabel from the punisher s2
“Hi,” she murmurs, pressing the back of his hand to her cheek.
The skin is warm, rough, familiar, and Isabel closes her eyes against the rising onslaught of anxiety and relief. Absently, she turns her head, lips brushing his scuffed and scabbed knuckles.
The moment, punctuated only by their quiet breathing and the steady beeping of machines, feels sickeningly reverent. Isabel’s thumb drifts down to his wrist, presses just above his pulse point to feel the unrelenting thump of his heart.
and you know what. it’s only one paragraph but welcome to my in process riley piece ft. @statichvm’s lily (she’s the freckled shoulders.)
“When’s the last time you slept in a twin bed?” he muses quietly, fingers tracing warm shapes over her freckled shoulders.
and now the shame. ignore the random paragraph marker where i haven’t had the brain cells to connect my two disjointed scenes.
“You shouldn’t have come for me,” Pratt says, tightening the straps on her wrists. “You should’ve run.”
Her vision swims and doubles, one Pratt becoming two. Lucy tries to focus on his battered face, the stubble on his jaw, something to ground herself. It feels like the haze in her head is going to swallow her.
“Pratt?” she manages. His name feels thick and fuzzy in her mouth.
There’s a rustling noise behind her, then heavy footsteps. Pratt blanches. Lucy watches him scurry away from her, over to the front of the room where the other two captives are bound to their chairs. From somewhere in the room, a projector flickers to life. The light casts Pratt’s face in heavy shadows.
An emaciated deer appears on the wall in front of her.
“The world is weak. Soft.”
The blood freezes in Lucy’s veins. It’s different from what she remembers — harder, a little raspy, filled with contempt — but she knows that voice.
“We have forgotten what it means to be strong.”
In her peripheral vision, all she can see are faded blue jeans, the camouflage pattern of a jacket. Red hair.
<*>
“Now, the Collapse is upon us.”
She doesn’t flinch when Jacob leans down, grabs the arms of the chair, and pulls her closer to him. There are patches of dried blood marring the grey of his shirt, she notices idly. Part of her would rather not think about why they’re there.
“And this time,” Jacob says, a foot away from her, his breath ghosting across her face as he speaks, “the lives of the few outweigh the lives of the many.”
The collar of his shirt has dipped down, and Lucy can see the pale, undamaged skin of his neck, his throat. How far does the scarring travel? How badly has his life ruined his body? Is this all that’s been left untouched? It makes her heart ache in a way she wishes she could ignore. His dog tags sway where they hang from his neck, and Lucy’s eyes flit over the letters engraved in the stainless steel.
He’s close enough to touch, but she doesn’t think she can look into his eyes. She doesn’t want to.
She doesn’t want to meet his gaze, because the moment she does this becomes real. The moment she does, she’ll have to acknowledge that this is the same Jacob Seed she remembers, that this is not a sick joke.
The breath hitches in her chest when she finally makes herself look up. She expects to see something in his eyes — recognition, shock, sadness, anger, something.
Instead, she sees indifference.
“And when a nation that’s never known hunger or desperation descends into madness,” Jacob murmurs, his voice a low, deadly rasp, “we’ll be ready.”
The projector goes black as the slide changes again, and Jacob’s face is bathed in shadows. His stare is burning, heavy, and it lingers on her for a few seconds too long. Lucy wants to break her bonds and reach out, wants to touch the side of his face, just to see how he’ll react. If he’ll react.
And then he stands, an unkind half-smile playing at the corner of his mouth, and reaches for a small box. A music box, she realizes, as she watches him twist the brass key.
“We will cull the herd,” Jacob says, and Lucy thinks he may be talking to himself more than anyone else. “We will do what needs to be done.”
His fingers rest atop of the music box for a moment, and he stares her, watching. Then, slowly, he lifts the lid and lets the sound warble out.
thank you to my beloved @d-esmond for convincing me to give this a shot with my problem child 💕 it was silly but so much fun

IMOGEN: What is this? What are you doing?
BIX: Draven wants a psych profile. It’s just a few questions.
IMOGEN: No.
BIX: Everyone has to do it, Imogen.
IMOGEN: There are endless other tasks that I would rather waste my time on.
BIX: Yeah, well, I had to do it and so do you.
IMOGEN: And the esteemed general sends you to interrogate me in his stead.
BIX: He knows you're too much of a brat to agree to do this with anyone else.
(long pause as they stare at each other)
IMOGEN: Make it quick.
Name?
IMOGEN: Off to a rather dull start.
BIX: Just say it.
IMOGEN: Well, if the Alliance does not even know my name, then–
BIX: (typing) Imogen Kol, got it.
Are you single?
IMOGEN: Tell Draven that the last man who asked me this question no longer possesses a tongue.
BIX: I’m asking you.
IMOGEN: Oh. Here I thought there were no longer any doubts between us.
BIX: (sighs) Take this seriously so we can get it over with.
IMOGEN: Fine.
Are you happy?
IMOGEN: I have reached closer to contentment by your side than anywhere else.
(pause as Bix attempts to hold back a smile)
BIX: But you wouldn’t say you’re happy?
IMOGEN: Allow me to take you far away from all of this rebellion nonsense and we shall revisit the question.
BIX: I just might take you up on that someday.
Are you angry?
IMOGEN: I would say that my anger always lingers beneath the surface. Nothing provides better focus when I am in need.
BIX: Some could argue that anger makes you unfocused.
IMOGEN: Perhaps for the fools who do not know how to properly utilize it.
Are your parents still married?
IMOGEN: My parents are long dead.
BIX: Yeah, sorry. I should’ve skipped this one.
IMOGEN: I suppose they could have had marital discord that went unresolved before their untimely demise. Hard to say as I never knew them. A part of me hopes so.
BIX: Um…let’s move on.
Birth place?
IMOGEN: Onderon. Miserable planet.
BIX: What’s so miserable about it?
IMOGEN: The climate. Not dissimilar to the unbearable humidity here. I could have been born somewhere far more pleasant like Naboo, my father’s homeworld. I would even settle for Corellia, where my mother is from, but no. They chose a savage jungle world with bleak walled cities to bring me into this galaxy.
BIX: I have a feeling you came out earlier than expected.
IMOGEN: What does that mean?
Hair color?
IMOGEN: Lighter than black.
BIX: So, brown?
IMOGEN: A darker shade of brown. Greel wood might be a fair comparison.
BIX: You can just say dark brown.
IMOGEN: I suppose it would also depend on the lighting…
BIX: I’m putting in brown.
Eye color?
IMOGEN: Grey.
BIX: What, no ‘lighter than a storm cloud, but darker than durasteel’?
IMOGEN: Light grey.
BIX: You’re trying to get on my nerves.
IMOGEN: There is no trying when it comes to that, my darling.
Birth date?
IMOGEN: 34 BBY
BIX: Anything more specific than that?
IMOGEN: The year is all I was told. I could not even tell you the season.
BIX: Oh.
IMOGEN: (shrugs) It makes no difference to me. I have no use for anything other than the year.
Mood?
IMOGEN: Bored and impatient.
BIX: You poor thing.
IMOGEN: Yes, let us abandon these pointless questions before I suffer further.
BIX: You’ll survive.
Gender?
IMOGEN: I am very comfortable as a woman.
BIX: You skirt the line, sometimes.
IMOGEN: In presentation only.
Summer or winter?
IMOGEN: Neither, I prefer spring.
BIX: That wasn’t the question.
IMOGEN: That is my answer. Summer is too hot. Winter is too cold.
BIX: Yet somehow your hands are always freezing no matter what.
Morning or afternoon?
IMOGEN: Morning.
BIX: Me too.
IMOGEN: Not as early as I prefer it.
BIX: Hm… I remember a time you passed out on my couch and almost slept through the anvil.
IMOGEN: Yes, well, that was after a rather long and strenuous night, if you recall.
BIX: I still woke up and got ready for work before you.
=EIGHT THINGS ABOUT YOUR LOVE LIFE=
Are you in love?
IMOGEN: It has taken some time for me to recognize it, but yes. I suppose I am.
BIX: You suppose?
IMOGEN: I am.
BIX: I’d like to hear you say it.
IMOGEN: I am in love.
Who ended your last relationship?
IMOGEN: I have never been in a relationship before.
BIX: What about Trilla?
IMOGEN: If we are counting that volatile dalliance, then I ended it. It outlived its purpose along with my allegiance to the Empire.
BIX: She died, right?
IMOGEN: Once again, not by my hand. Though, I would have liked it to be.
Have you ever broken someone’s heart?
IMOGEN: Many, I am sure. But not in the way you are asking.
BIX: You broke mine.
IMOGEN: What?
BIX: That first time you left. When we tried to end things on Ferrix.
(pause)
IMOGEN: I came back.
BIX: You did.
(both share a small smile)
Are you afraid of commitments?
IMOGEN: What are you doing?
BIX: Just putting in ‘yes’ so we can move on.
Have you hugged someone within the last week?
IMOGEN: You.
BIX: You give better hugs than I expected.
IMOGEN: I know how to hold what is precious to me.
BIX: (scoffs) And you want me to believe you’re not romantic.
Have you ever had a secret admirer?
IMOGEN: Given the nature of these questions, I am beginning to suspect Draven.
BIX: No, I definitely think it’s Cassian.
IMOGEN: (visibly shudders in disgust) Do not joke about that unless you want me to feed him to one of those tusked beasts that roam the jungle.
BIX: Like you need an excuse for that.
Have you ever broken your own heart?
IMOGEN: When I left you on Ferrix. Those last two times.
BIX: But you came back.
IMOGEN: I never should have left in the first place.
=SIX CHOICES=
Love or lust?
IMOGEN: Both are equally intoxicating and occasionally go hand-in-hand.
IMOGEN: …Lust.
BIX: Don’t look at me like that until we’re finished with this.
Lemonade or ice tea?
IMOGEN: Something tart and fruity sounds lovely at the moment.
BIX: I’m right here, sweetheart.
IMOGEN: (rare Imogen laugh) Now who needs to take this seriously?
Cats or dogs?
IMOGEN: I am not very fond of animals in general.
BIX: Which do you relate to the most, then?
IMOGEN: A cat, I suppose?
BIX: Hm. Not what I would have picked for you.
(Imogen frowns in confusion)
A few best friends or many regular friends?
IMOGEN: No friends.
BIX: You don’t even have one single friend?
IMOGEN: There are a few people that I tolerate.
BIX: Fine, I guess that’ll have to count.
Wild night out or romantic night in?
IMOGEN: I really must take you to a high end club one of these days.
BIX: I thought you hated crowds.
IMOGEN: When you rent a private box with a balcony, you can enjoy the atmosphere and services without all the obnoxiousness.
BIX: Huh. I didn’t know you could do that.
IMOGEN: Just say the word, darling. Canto Bight is wonderful this time of year.
Day or night?
IMOGEN: I have had my best hunts during the night. It is quieter then, as well.
BIX: Not here.
IMOGEN: No. Far too many nocturnal creatures. Daytime is not much better, though.
BIX: It gets really muggy for sure.
IMOGEN: Canto Bight is sounding more and more appealing.
=FOUR HAVE YOU EVERS=
Been caught sneaking out?
IMOGEN: Never been caught, no.
BIX: Did you sneak out of the Jedi Temple?
IMOGEN: Not the Temple. I slipped away a few times during missions with my Master. I tried to imagine what it would be like to run away, but the idea frightened me too much back then.
Fallen up/down stairs?
IMOGEN: I am far too coordinated.
BIX: Not even when you first got that? (taps cybernetic leg)
IMOGEN: (glares) No.
BIX: Sure.
Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt?
IMOGEN: Yes. I never knew such a thing was possible.
BIX: Neither did I.
IMOGEN: Unbearable and euphoric in equal measure. I feel the remnants of that ache to this day.
Wanted to disappear?
IMOGEN: Many times. And I have done so successfully many times.
BIX: Says the woman who has a thirty foot tall wanted poster in Coruscant.
IMOGEN: (lifts hands) They have yet to find me.
=FOUR PREFERENCES=
Smile or eyes?
IMOGEN: Such an unfair choice to make, but I must say eyes.
BIX: I like your smile best.
IMOGEN: This is my interview.
BIX: Oh, you don’t want to hear me talk about your smile?
IMOGEN: I want you to keep my smile to yourself.
(Bix chuckles)
Shorter or taller?
(Imogen raises an eyebrow)
BIX: What? You want me to admit I’m shorter?
IMOGEN: By quite a few inches.
BIX: You’re exaggerating.
IMOGEN: I find it endearing how you lean up to kiss me.
BIX: I can start pulling you down by your collar more, save myself the strain.
IMOGEN: I very much enjoy that, as well.
Intelligence or attraction?
IMOGEN: You have no shortage of either, darling.
BIX: If you had to choose?
IMOGEN: My standards are too high to choose.
Hook-up or relationship?
IMOGEN: Repeated hook-ups with an intense all-consuming devotion.
BIX: So… a relationship.
IMOGEN: That feels limiting.
BIX: Are you saying you want to open things up?
IMOGEN: Absolutely not.
BIX: That’s what I thought.
=FAMILY=
Do you and your family get along?
IMOGEN: I have no family to get along with.
BIX: Well, what about your Master?
IMOGEN: We did not get along.
BIX: Not at all?
IMOGEN: I was a difficult ward in her eyes. No matter what I did, it was never enough. Perhaps there were some pleasant moments, but I could count them all on one hand.
Have you ever run away from home?
IMOGEN: I would have gotten the courage to eventually.
BIX: You mean from the Order?
IMOGEN: (nods) It is the only home I knew as a child.
Would you say you have a “messed up life”?
IMOGEN: What kind of question is that? I happen to think my life is well structured and–
BIX: I’m going to stop you right there.
IMOGEN: Why?
BIX: You were taken from your family at a very young age, raised to be a child soldier, then had a career hunting down your former peers to torture and murder them.
IMOGEN: Which took years of training and discipline, Bix.
BIX: We’ll talk more about it later.
Have you ever gotten kicked out?
IMOGEN: I can say for certain that if I had not left the Order on my own, I would have been expelled. I was never built for that life.
BIX: What would you have been expelled for, you think?
IMOGEN: (flashes a smirk) Forming an attachment to a captivating mechanic, most likely.
(Bix shakes her head, but fails to hold back a smile)
=FRIENDS=
Do you secretly hate one of your friends?
IMOGEN: No, not at all. I hate them openly.
BIX: (chuckles) I thought you didn’t have any friends.
IMOGEN: We have established that there are a few individuals I tolerate.
Do you consider all of your friends good friends?
IMOGEN: Is this interrogation over yet?
BIX: Almost. I’m just going to put down ‘yes’ based on the fact you haven’t killed anyone we know.
IMOGEN: Put down whatever you wish at this point.
Who is your best friend?
BIX: (typing) ‘Cal Kestis’.
IMOGEN: Pardon?
BIX: You said to put down whatever I want.
IMOGEN: He is not my best friend. Or even a friend.
BIX: You tolerate him.
IMOGEN: I tolerate him enough to keep him alive as entertainment. Jedi are few and far between these days, I do not want my saber skills to dull.
BIX: Okay. (typing) ‘Cassian Andor’–
IMOGEN: (groaning) Bix.
Who knows everything about you?
IMOGEN: No one.
BIX: I do.
IMOGEN: You do not know everything.
BIX: I see you. That’s pretty much the same thing.
IMOGEN: (smiles) You certainly see more than anyone else ever will.
BIX: (smiles back) Do you want that lemonade now?
IMOGEN: Yes, I am parched after all of that nonsense.
BIX: Yeah, that felt longer than I remember.
IMOGEN: You truly recorded everything I said?
BIX: Don’t worry, I’m only submitting vague or one word answers. Most of this was for me.
IMOGEN: (chuckles softly) You are brilliant, darling.
i got the idea from @leviiackrman's posts and i was in the mood for some easy writing so. yeah. my boy. just. imagine somebody doing an article on the local studio employees.
DOUGLAS: “Nice meeting you! Why are we doing this again?”
INTERVIEWER: “I’m supposed to speak to some employees—”
DOUGLAS: “C’mon, slip me a five—”
(he enthusiastically shakes hands with the interviewer)
DOUGLAS: “You’ll have to forgive me for being late, my oldest spilled juice all over my last good pair of trousers and— Well. How are ya? What’s your name?”
INTERVIEWER: “Not a problem, we’re not in a hurry. It’s, uh, James. Nice to meet you.”
DOUGLAS: “James! My good pal’s name is also James. I call him Jimmy.”
Name?
DOUGLAS: “Right. Douglas Avery. Or Douglas J. Avery, it sounds fancy. You can call me Doug, though, because we’re gonna be friends, aren’t we?”
JAMES: “What’s the J. stand for?”
DOUGLAS: “Jonathan. It was my old man’s name, I think.”
JAMES: “Are you not sure?”
DOUGLAS: (hesitates) “Can I call you Jimmy?”
JAMES: “Uh, of course.”
Are you single?
DOUGLAS: “Oh, boy.” (big goofy smile that will appear whenever he mentions his wife) “No, no, I’m married. Look. This is Cathy. She’s a knockout, isn’t she?”
(he hands the interviewer a picture of cathy that he keeps in his wallet)
JIMMY: “She’s lovely.”
DOUGLAS: “Hey there, watch it, I said we were gonna be friends.” (he snickers at his own joke because of course he does.) “Yeah, Cathy. I love her. Married for four years now. Me! With her!”
Are you happy?
DOUGLAS: “Yeah! I had a good day. And you?”
JIMMY: “We don’t have to— It’s an interview, Mr. Avery.”
DOUGLAS: “Doug.”
JIMMY: “Excuse me?”
DOUGLAS: “I told you, call me Doug!”
(silence)
DOUGLAS: “I’m distracting you.”
JIMMY: “Yeah.”
DOUGLAS: “Apologies.”
JIMMY: (chuckles) “Let’s continue.”
Are you angry?
DOUGLAS: “Now, I don’t get angry that much. I used to take lots of beatings, but that’s just how boys are, right? I will say, the spilled juice had me peeved. But who is there to get angry at, my Flora? Come on…” (he trails off) “Oh, do you wanna see a picture? “
JIMMY: “Of Flora?”
DOUGLAS: “Yeah!” (he rummages in his wallet again) “Here. Spitting image of her mother, right? And these are the twins. Just shy of one year old now. They’re a handful.”
JIMMY: (laughs) “I gather they get that from you.”
DOUGLAS: “You got me, Jimmy!”
Are your parents still married?
(Douglas frowns and takes unusually long to answer)
DOUGLAS: “Yeah. Well, no, not really. My stepfather— You know what? Can we move on?”
JIMMY: “Everything alright?”
DOUGLAS: “It’s not interesting.”
Birth place?
DOUGLAS: “Bakersfield. You know it, right? Boring place. Everyone is very serious there. All work. They get worked up over the oil and the railroad. And before that was the fire. I don’t know.”
JIMMY: “I remember reading about that. 1889?”
DOUGLAS: “I’ll take your word for it. I wasn’t there.” (he laughs nervously)
Hair color?
DOUGLAS: “Brown? There’s some orange in there. Cathy says it’s chestnut. Let’s go with that.”
JIMMY: “What about—?”
DOUGLAS: “I used to be in a class with this ginger-haired boy — and he always stuck his boogers on the bench next to me.”
(silence)
JIMMY: “So?”
DOUGLAS: “Nothing. It comes to mind.”
Eye color?
DOUGLAS: “Brown. No doubt about that.”
(silence again)
DOUGLAS: “What?”
JIMMY: “No story?”
(Douglas laughs and gives Jimmy a pat on the shoulder)
Birthday?
DOUGLAS: “August 11th. Did you know the weather is always good on my birthday?”
JIMMY: “We live in California, Doug.”
DOUGLAS: (smiles wide) “I know. But still, it’s nice.”
Mood?
DOUGLAS: “At this moment? Still good.”
JIMMY: “You’re not an ill-tempered guy, huh?”
DOUGLAS: “You can say that. Hey, would you be feeling sad if your wife had bean stew ready on the stove?”
JIMMY: “Bean stew?”
DOUGLAS: “Nobody makes it like Cathy does. You should try it. She would love to give you the recipe. Are you married?”
JIMMY: “No. Doug—”
DOUGLAS: “Yeah, yeah. Go on.”
Gender?
DOUGLAS: “I’m as manly as they come!” (laughs at his own joke. again.)
Summer or winter?
DOUGLAS: “The snow of ‘32 was something else, wasn’t it?”
JIMMY: “I was out of town that week.”
DOUGLAS: “You missed out! You should have seen little Flora’s face. It was a miracle.”
JIMMY: “So, winter?”
DOUGLAS: “Oh, definitely not. Summer.”
JIMMY: “Noted.”
Morning or afternoon?
(Douglas hesitates)
JIMMY: “It’s not a difficult question.
DOUGLAS: It is. Mornings. Although— No. Mornings.”
=EIGHT THINGS ABOUT YOUR LOVE LIFE=
Are you in love?
(Douglas nods and proudly taps Cathy’s picture)
JIMMY: “She must be some doll to make you blush like that.”
DOUGLAS: “Oh, you gotta meet her. You’ll understand.”
Who ended your last relationship?
DOUGLAS: “She was my first, cross my heart.”
JIMMY: “Truly?”
DOUGLAS: “Well, there was this one girl… But no.”
JIMMY: “Does your wife know?”
DOUGLAS: (laughs) “She knows everything, pal.”
Have you ever broken someone's heart?
DOUGLAS: (eyes wide) “I hope not.”
JIMMY: “Not even that one girl?”
DOUGLAS: “No way. My mother, maybe. I left home when I was very young.”
JIMMY: “Care to tell that story?”
DOUGLAS: “No, buddy, I need strong hooch for that. Come over sometime.”
Are you afraid of commitments?
DOUGLAS: (shrugs) “Not afraid enough, that’s what Cathy once said.”
JIMMY: “How so?”
DOUGLAS: (chuckles) “I proposed to her very quickly.”
Have you hugged someone within the last week?
DOUGLAS: “Of course! Flora, before I left. I hug my family as much as I can. You should too.”
Have you ever had a secret admirer?
DOUGLAS: (shifting in his seat) “It’s not a secret if I know about it, right?”
JIMMY: “Maybe you found out, you’re a smart guy.”
DOUGLAS: “I’m no smarty, Jimmy. I know that.”
Have you ever broken your own heart?
DOUGLAS: “Some of these questions are quite personal, huh?”
JIMMY: “Apologies. Are you uncomfortable?”
DOUGLAS: “Nah, I just— What do I even say?”
JIMMY: “Whatever you want.”
DOUGLAS: (frowns) “I don’t know. Can we do something else?”
=SIX CHOICES=
Love or lust?
(Douglas smiles again, discomfort forgotten)
DOUGLAS: “Love.”
Lemonade or ice tea?
DOUGLAS: “Ice tea. No— Lemonade. Spiked.”
JIMMY: (laughing) “That’s the second time you mentioned liquor.”
DOUGLAS: “It’s been a long week, Jimmy.”
JIMMY: “Twins. Understood.”
Cats or dogs?
DOUGLAS: “Have you been to the stables here?”
JIMMY: “I know you take care of the horses.”
DOUGLAS: “I do. Last week, the youngest mare—”
JIMMY: “Doug, cats or dogs?”
DOUGLAS: (he pulls a face) “Dogs, I suppose.”
A few best friends or many regular friends?
DOUGLAS: “Many… best friends?”
Wild night out or romantic night in?
DOUGLAS: “Night in.”
JIMMY: “I’m surprised to hear that.”
DOUGLAS: “I know. Me too.”
Day or night?
DOUGLAS: “Did you know I snore?”
JIMMY: “I couldn’t have known that.”
DOUGLAS: “Well, I snore.”
(silence)
DOUGLAS: “Day.”
=FOUR HAVE YOU EVERS=
DOUGLAS: (fidgeting) “How many questions left?”
JIMMY: “Not that many. Do you have somewhere to be?”
DOUGLAS: “No, no! Just… It’s nice out, you know. I don’t want to waste it.”
Been caught sneaking out?
(Douglas chuckles)
JIMMY: “What’s funny?”
DOUGLAS: “It’s not supposed to be funny. Uh, yeah. A few times. I was a little— restless.”
(Jimmy raises his eyebrows and looks at Doug’s bouncing leg)
DOUGLAS: “Don’t.”
Fallen down/up the stairs?
DOUGLAS: “I broke my arm once trying to skip as many steps as I could.”
JIMMY: “How old were you?”
(silence)
DOUGLAS: “It was three years ago— Before you say anything, Cathy was in labor and I had to run to the phone. Hey, now—”
(Jimmy bursts out laughing)
DOUGLAS: “— I gave the doctor good business that day!”
JIMMY: (sniffling) “You’re a riot.”
Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt?
(Jimmy composes himself)
DOUGLAS: (long sigh) “I don’t know. Bean stew.”
(Now they’re both laughing)
JIMMY: “It’s that good?”
DOUGLAS: “Believe me!”
Wanted to disappear?
DOUGLAS: (still laughing, burying his face in his hands) “Yeah, right now. Please hurry.”
JIMMY: “Fine, fine.”
=FOUR PREFERENCES=
Smile or eyes?
JIMMY: “C’mon.”
DOUGLAS: “Alright. Almost done.” (he leans back) “Smile.”
Shorter or taller?
DOUGLAS: “I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone taller than me.”
JIMMY: “You’re not that tall.”
DOUGLAS: “I’m not telling stories, it’s just how it is.”
Intelligence or attraction?
DOUGLAS: “Both. Cathy has both. She’s very smart.”
Hook-up or relationship?
DOUGLAS: “What’s that?”
JIMMY: “Uh, spending just one night with a woman, to—“
DOUGLAS: “Like, uh— a prostitute? No, no, you can’t ask me these things, Jimmy!”
=Family=
Do you and your family get along?
(very, very, deep sigh)
DOUGLAS: “Not really.”
JIMMY: “Care to—?”
DOUGLAS: “I really don’t. I write to my mother, that’s all.”
Have you ever run away from home?
DOUGLAS: “When I was sixteen, yeah. That’s how I ended up here.”
JIMMY: “How did you do that?”
DOUGLAS: “Long story.”
JIMMY: “You don’t like to talk about this, do you?”
DOUGLAS: “I don’t mean to… Uh— I just liked the other questions more.”
Would you say you have a "messed up life"?
DOUGLAS: “No, I’m a lucky guy. Cathy, the kids, my job… It’s fantastic. Great.” (his wide smile returns thankfully) “Hollywood is great.”
Have you ever gotten kicked out?
DOUGLAS: (leans in close) “Do you know Benjamin Baxter?”
JIMMY: “I think so. Baxter family? The rich ones?”
DOUGLAS: (nodding slowly) “He’s a blockhead, right? Punched me in the nose once. Then I got kicked out of their party, because I got blood on their carpet, or something.”
JIMMY: “What did you do?”
DOUGLAS: “Nothing, truly! Well, I— Maybe I insulted him. But he deserved it. His father, the director? Just as bad. I need you to know that, just in case you gotta work for them, or something.”
JIMMY: (chuckles) “I trust your judgment.”
DOUGLAS: “Good, you should!”
=FRIENDS=
Do you secretly hate one of your friends?
DOUGLAS: “Baloney. Who secretly hates their friends?”
JIMMY: “I don’t know, it’s just a question.”
DOUGLAS: “You’d be honest, right? You’re a good guy.”
JIMMY: “Thank you, Doug.”
Do you consider all of your friends good friends?
DOUGLAS: “Absolutely.”
Who is your best friend?
DOUGLAS: “Jimmy. I mean— The other one, my buddy. Now it’s confusing.”
JIMMY: “I don’t like to be called Jimmy, anyway.”
DOUGLAS: “Jim?”
JIM: “Better.”
DOUGLAS: “Well, Jimmy, my buddy, there’s nobody like him. He’s my real brother.”
Who knows everything about you?
DOUGLAS: “Cathy, of course. I suppose you, when we’re done.”
Been working on a little something something of art practice
Here, have a little doodle of (thus far) two of my characters, Joaquin Cobalt (on the left) and Silva Omar (on the right); the protagonists of The UnTitledverse series and the Silva's Hope trilogy in The Silver Chronicles respectively:
Joaquin is way younger than he looks and Silva somehow has a rare moment of positivity in her life. Tries drawing her scars but I'm also like inexperienced in how those worked even with references.
And dear gods are hands and hair trouble. I stuck with the reference's four fingers cause attempting a fifth was a pain in the ass.
Overall pretty satisfied with how they've resulted.
Inspired by this post here where you too can find the styles I'm practicing off:
💬 1 🔁 2 ❤️ 19 · Ask game because art block is beating me with a stick and I have stuff I need to do but it needs to be good. Just give me
I'm not participating in this ask game yet, that'll be in the near future probably, I'm just doing doodle practice.
Made some OCs with this Winx Club meiker! I loved this show as a kid and it was really fun to make up what their transformations would look like.
Tagging some friends for fun, no pressure! @captastra @imogenkol @statichvm @incognito-insomniac @taciturntraveller @tommyarashikage @uptownlowdown @full---ofstarlight and anyone else who wants to make their own post.
