        He was unfazed,letting the frying scent from flesh and bones fused with daemonic fluids comeacross his nose. There was a burning-like ‘odor’. Much to a skin’s incineration.

       Verstael was used to it. Notthat he liked the smell of it but more like the fact that those bodies weredecapitated, absorbed by the daemonification. and slowly worked into the metalmembrane.

       The screaming of one’s core could be heard behindthe doors of Verstael’s Laboratory.

       THIS had never happened before.

       The core was defective. The Magitek wasmalfunctioning and the scientist wanted to find out what was the cause of it.

       “Blemish… thing. How come you out of all?”it was one of his servants after all.

       He’d opened the core to check it out and visibly he could tell it was overheating and completely shut off just by the start of his inspection. He could notice there was a fissure and sparks emitted from it.

       …

       “You don’t help.” Verstael commented in response with acontent tone, his back turned to Ardyn. He pulled his hands out and snapped hisfingers so the other servants could take the MT to where he stored his junk. Hemight use its parts in the future to make a brand new MT.
