Things TO-DO For a Productive Study Break
1. Refill Your Glass / Water Bottle
You can refill your empty glass / bottle that you’ve been drinking when you are studying. You can always have your fav drink : tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water, etc.
2. Make / Grab Some Snacks!
Who doesn’t love food? To make your study break more productive, you can make or just grab some snacks that you already have. I recommend to just have a light snacks or just the one-bite snacks. Maybe have some nuts, granola bar, fruits, etc. The healthier one the better one, but you can just take your fav junkies too...
3. Avoid Gadget
It sounds really hard honestly. But it’ll works. Try to avoid gadget usage, especially for non-studying importance (youtube, instagram, pinterest, etc). You can turn off your phone and give it to someone else to keep it while you’re studying, or if you cannot, you can set the “Forest” app. Why I recommend you this? Because if you’re on your phone when you’re on the study break, I cannot guarantee how long will you stay on that phone and start to study again.
4. Go Out and Get Some Fresh Air
It’s actually depends on how long your break is. If you have a long break, you can go out from the place that you’re studying, and take a little walk, to get some fresh air, it’s relaxing and calming. But if you just have a short break, you can just open and look out of your window, just enjoy the view outside your window...
5. Stretch and Move a Little Bit
After you’ve done so much writings, it is good for you to stretch a little bit, give your hands and fingers some rests. And you can also do some moves, maybe jumping jacks, or something else to make your body more ‘wake up’ and you will feel really good and relaxed. Or if you want, you can do a meditation or even a light workout.
6. Tidy Up Something
It may sounds really boring. Like, we’re on our break, why should we clean something up or do that tiring stuff..? For a procrastinator like me, I always try my best to do something that we can do right now, so that we can less-procrastinate. What i mean with tidy up, is like you can tidy up your bed, your closet, your room, your desk, or anything that is messy. I always don’t like to see something messy, and that motivates me a lot to tidy things up. And also it’s also like a motivation to do something else, like my goal is to clean up my bed, and after my bed tidy, i can do something that i really like, or really want to do.
7. Read a Chapter of a Book
If you like to read, you can make your break as your short reading time. I like to read one or two chapters of a book that i’m reading. But, it is also depends on how long the chapter is. Reading book can clear my mind, and it is also a fun thing to do.
8. Journalling/Planning
I always separate my journalling/planning time with my study time, although i use my journal for studying a lot. But for me, i open my journal and look for the next day or like things that will happened in the future, etc. You can fill your tracker in your journal, or maybe plan for tomorrow, or just doodle some stuff, etc.
9. Take a Shower
Shower is a really good thing for releasing mind burdens. So, we can be more relaxed and calmed. And what i like to do is, i like to take a cold shower. Because you can feel fresher and fully awake.
10. Help Someone
Giving help to others is a really good and time-consuming thing. You can help anyone. Like your mother, father, siblings. And with any problem, like if your siblings don’t know how to do their homeworks, you can help them, or maybe help your mother to cook, or to do the washing, etc.
