I'm finally watching the im a blisy "i am gonna make a better website than serebii" video and the funniest thing so far is them saying "i have to scroll past ALLLL this useless shit to see where Clefairy is in HGSS" and the scroll is like… minor lmao. Just below the cut is the info they want.
Meanwhile, I selected "Soul Silver", started typing "Clefairy", selected the auto-complete option, and it defaulted to "Ultra Moon", which I only realized because I was like "huh, I don't think HGSS has SOS battles" lmao
Another thing about the im a blisy website is that it's covered in ads. The only reason I don't have to scroll when I turn off adblocker is because my monitor is big enough.
Look what happens when I decide to give myself a mobile-ish view.
It's also ridiculous to be like "this is a resource built for competitive players" and have your pokemon info top out at Gen 7. This isn't a PokeAPI issue, as they make reference to Gen 8 on their site and im a blisy says that the info just isn't complete, but...
Towards the end of the video, im a blisy starts talking about all the info that isn't in PokeAPI, saying it's more "niche" and "minor" data that's missing, including IN GAME TRADES FROM RBY & GSC that they themselves had to add! im a blisy says shortly after this:
"so, at the moment, what i've made here is basically the best old gen pokemon game information website"
They admit that the info on gens 1-7 is incomplete. Serebii has in-game trades page for RBY & GSC. Their website doesn't. C'mon now.
At the end of the day, the im a blisy website is incomplete, ad-ridden, and doesn't even do it's mission statement justice. There are better websites out there, with less ads, with more complete info. This is not the serebii killer, and framing it as such is needlessly antagonistic.
Im a blissy going all "people only read the headlines" would be way more honest if direct quotes and references to the text of their video didn't seem to deeply confuse them.

Second wildest is having a burst of creative energy cut through the monotony of your work day, but you cannot act on it.
