Repulsion enlarges
my senses.
The stench of
frustration fills the
planet like an
enlarged, cracked heart.
I’m leaking grease from
my eyes
now and
not even
diamond can
dam this toxic river.
Christian Johann Heinrich Heine (13 December 1797 – 17 February 1856)
German-Jewish poet, journalist, essayist, and literary critic. He is best known outside of Germany for his early lyric poetry, which was set to music in the form of Lieder (art songs) by composers such as Robert Schumann and Franz Schubert. Heine’s later verse and prose are distinguished by their satirical wit and irony. (Wikipedia)

Darling, it is the candle you guard from the wind that burns your hand.
The ones who came before you will tell you that I am their tragedy, their burning building … This poem is not for them,
