hii I’m sorry I’m not quite sure how the prompts work, but if you’re doing Troy/Harris
Can you do one where it’s them talking about having kids? Or maybe their journey in that way/how they feel about it? I go back and forth on whether I think they’d have kids, but I could see them with kids that are friends with Hollanov’s kids 🫶🫶
I don't see them with kids at all, I think they're dog parents forever :)
my prompts are still open until tuesday, june 16th!

"Quiet at last," Harris sighed, closing the door behind the Hollander-Rozanovs and their gaggle of children.
Troy blew out a breath. "Thank fuck."
"Do you want a drink?" Harris asked, and Troy nodded.
A few minutes later, they were sitting on their back porch, Harris sipping a cider while Troy savored an IPA. The dogs lounged around the space as well, tired from spending the day playing with Anya and the kids. Boba was slowly circling the garden, sniffing here and there, and tiny Heather sat at the edge of the porch, ears pointed, standing guard as if to protect them all.
After a few minutes of blessed silence, Harris spoke. "Should we have kids?"
He did not sound convinced at all.
Troy gave it a moment to think about it. "Do you want to?"
"I don't know." Harris shrugged. When Troy looked at him, his face was skeptical. "Do you?"
Troy took a moment to consider it. He liked Ilya's and Shane's girls, he really did. They were cute and funny. But at the end of the day, Troy always felt an intense relief when he could return them to their dads.
"No, I don't think I want to."
Harris nodded, then a little grin spread over his face. "God, no. Fuck no."
They both started laughing.
"God, having kids would so annoying." Harris covered his mouth with his hand. "Imagine me on the PTA board."
"You'd run that shit," Troy laughed. He could just imagine it perfectly. He could also imagine perfectly how unhappy it would make Harris to be away from his actual work for months, or even years. How frustrated he'd get, giving himself up for a little creature that depended so wholly on him. And he could imagine himself growing frustrated as well, his routines interrupted, his entire life controlled by a child who couldn't even be blamed because it was their first time on earth. Troy had an intense, unpleasant memory of his father, yelling at him when he was little. Shut up and do what I tell you!
Troy only just felt like he could care for himself in a way that was healing, and bringing a child into this seemed counterproductive as well as unfair to the child.
"Don't get me wrong, I love our friends' kids, I love my nieces and nephews..." Harris mused, looking up into the slowly-darkening sky, "I just don't wanna do... all that." He looked at Troy, smiling at him. "You're my family. The dogs. That's enough for me."
Troy returned the smile, and reached out across the empty space between their chairs, tangling their fingers together. They sat like that for a few more minutes, finishing their drinks until the sun had fully gone down.
"Hey." Troy nudged Harris, "Do you want to play Stardew Valley together until one in the morning in our gaming room which will never be converted into a nursery?"
Harris chuckled, pulling Troy's hand to his cheek, nuzzling it. "Sure, but I was actually about to suggest having loud sex with no regards to any other humans living in our household first."
Troy grinned, then pulled on Harris' hand. "Let's do it."
