what are some ingredients i can use in curses?

Well, without knowing what specific curses you are referring to… I’ll list some basic ingredients that can be used for a number of different outcomes:- Bark/leaves from a tree that has been struck by lightning- Hairs from animals that dislike each other (hairs from both a cat and a dog)- Bones, teeth, hair from a predatory animal- Venomous bugs- Pins and needles- Rusty nails- Broken glass- Chilli’s, pepper - Lemon/lime, vinegar, sour milk- Black salt, soot, ashes, charcoal- Dust- Storm/rain and ocean water- Spittle- Baneful herbs- Spider-webs, webbing, nets- Twine, string, thread- Rotting/mouldy foods- Dirt/graveyard dirt. Some people might say that gathering the dirt from a site of a murderer/criminal etc might be more potent when it comes to cursing - I would advise against this. Instead, I would recommend gathering dirt from a relative/ancestral plot… and always leave some kind of payment as return.

Herbs that Correspond w/ Blessings

Health: caraway seeds, eucalyptus leaves, ginger, juniper, berries, pine needles, rose hips, sunflower petals or seeds, thyme.

Happiness: baby’s breath, cedar chips or shavings, fir needles, marigold petals, marjoram, orange peel, oregano, savory.

Love: cardamom pods or ground cardamom,carnation petals, cinnamon chips or ground cinnamon, coriander seeds, hibiscus flowers, linden flowers, mint, rose petals, willow leaves or bark.

Prosperity: acorns, allspice, almonds, banana chips, cloves, oak leave, oats, poppy seeds, rice, saffron threads, sage.

Peace: basil,catnip, lavender, lemongrass, olive branches or olive leaves, rosemary, violets.

Protection: angelica, black beans, cactus needles,garlic powder, or garlic salt, nettles, ground black pepper or black peppercorns, thistles, thorns.

Good Fortune: ash leaves, bay leaves, cumin seeds or powdered cumin, dill seeds or leaves, whole or ground nutmeg, vanilla beans.

I find these very helpful during candles magick and magick bottles, adds a little kick :)

In all seriousness I took a death and dying course in college for fun and that’s when I fell in love with, and began to seriously study, spontaneous or “street shrines”. These are the organic, unplanned placements of items when someone is killed, generally, and the community almost descends on a spot. I am fascinated by that interfaith, inter-spirit moment of connection fostered. What drives someone to leave the first item? Who guides them there? What do we, as humans, seek from the leaving of a memorial on a place that now hallowed? And we know it is, to some extent, even if we’re not spirit-workers. We have this human need to bear witness, no matter who we are, and over and over again it manifests as this need to build some space, some monument that says “they were here, and now they aren’t here, and we, collectively, of all faiths and walks of life, strangers to each other, will remember them”

We take comfort in, and protect to some measure, that space we create with tea-light candles and stuffed bears and flowers and it just feels like the Right Thing to Do. We rebuild these spaces when they are torn down by authority and we keep building them up and that’s beautiful

Street shrines are TRULY universal, too. They are largely non-verbal but it’s like we just KNOW what to do, like something moves inside all of us and it doesn’t fucking matter if we can’t understand anyone else standing at the site, it’s just a Knowing. It’s phenomenal

Black Thread: A Witch’s Best Friend

I’ve met a lot of Witch’s from numerous backgrounds who have only ever used black thread as a means of keeping things out (black being a color for banishing negativity and numerous other bad spirits and mojo)

After listening to one friend describe how she used black string as a banishing agent for her windows WITHOUT first cleansing her house, it occurred to me how many of us don’t think about it keep bad things IN.

In short, I’ve started using it on curse objects and anything I use to absorb bad luck or anything of the like. For instance, if you are burying a box at the crossroads, tie it up in black thread to keep the bad or good inside and keep anything else out. You can even tie off your box of Witchy things with black string or thread to keep the good in ad the bad out. Or if you curse a poppet for future use and need to keep it in your witch box wrap it up in thread to keep it from tainting everything else in your box :)

Just a thought is all. :)

Storm Magic

Divination Tea for the Full Moon with a pinch of romance

Last night during the Full Moon, @windowsill-gardens, @autumn-blatt , and I did divination, protection and love jars, and cleansed/recharged our tarot cards and crystals.  Here is the recipe for divination tea blend I created quickly for our tasseography divination.

crush well -12 whole cloves, ½ stick of cinnamon, and 6 rose hips

gently blend in - 3 tsps of black tea (assam) and 1 tsp of each thyme, yarrow, and lemon balm

Steep 1 tbsp of tea blend for 3-5 mins in individual tea cups and add in sugar to taste.

I used the individual spices and herbs for their magical properties to aid us in some of the following…

Clove - protection, banishing hostile and negative forces, gaining what is sought, love lust, inspiration, visionary, release

Cinnamon - clairvoyance, consecration, divination, energy, good luck, love, money, passion, peace, prosperity, protection, psychic development, success, wisdom

Yarrow - love and good luck spells

Thyme - good health, restful sleep, lack of nightmares, psychic power, purity, courage, energy, money

Lemon Balm - love potions, fertility, anit-depressant, sooth emotional pains, focus, clarity, animal healing, longevity, prosperity, psychic, release, success, youth

Rose Hips - good luck, luck in love, encourage friendly spirits

Here’s a few of the symbols and meanings I was able to find in my tea leaves. Before I started drinking my tea, I asked what events might be taking place in my future and if there was any potential for romance and true love in the near future.

I started at the right side of the handle and read clockwise.

fish - sharing of knowledge, teaching, Pisces (I seem to get a lot of fish, because I’m Pisces but I am also teaching art classes currently)

skull - loss of money, ill health, danger lurks, be careful in your doings and do not take undue risks

dog - good friend, someone born in the Chinese Zodiac of dog

mermaid - temptation, an offer that is not what it seems

bee - fruitful, hard work

dragon  - scheming or flashy person, unforeseen trouble, change, someone born under the Chinese Zodiac of dragon 

comet - brink of pivotal change or dramatic event in your life, unexpected visitor

bird - good news, a messenger

frog - fertility, abundance, a disguised handsome/beautiful lover

deer - a shy timid person, be more assertive, dispute, quarrel, 

Tower (shaped similar to female reproductive system) - risk of disappointment 

Anchor (at the left of the handle) - stability, constancy in love or business, can be a burden you might should stay clear of 

and in the bottom of the cup

Cat - deceit, an untrustworthy friend, quarrel, treachery

Mouse - theft, be cautious of credit deals

🔮💫 Witch tips!

- Clean your house as usual; place three pinches of salt in the corners of every room to protect your home. - Make a circle of salt around a photo of you to build a protective shield. - If you’re waiting for a call, email, text, etc. light a candle of the correspondent colour (if you’re waiting for a call from work, a green one, if you’re waiting for a text from a loved one, a pink one…) and visualize the answer you’re waiting for. - To attract money, in a saucer place a laurel leave, a coin and cover it in honey. - Before doing a spell, light a candle and while it burns, say “You will become a powerful ally” repeatedly. - Fill a bottle with rose water, rose petals and lavender buds and bury it to attract love.

I made my first candles :3

They smell like Vanilla, inside they have my first dry flowers and lila and white glitter. There are also little plastic letters inside the candles with the name of the persons I made them for. The biggest one I made in memorial of Mr.Darcy. As you all know. He was my Rattie who passed away three days ago :/
