Me: I gotta find ways to make illustration more sustainable with my chronic pain. I should simplify my art style so it doesn't require as much time. Also me: I'm going to hatch the hair on this one by going with the grain using the world's tiniest pen
I love you sans serif fonts that add a little curly tail to lowercase L so it's actually distinguishable from uppercase i
Or who add the serifs to uppercase i for the same reason
I haven’t started listening to music yet, what’s the first song? I want to start at the beginning so I don’t accidentally spoil myself

warm up? cool down? anyway here's Vertex
Infection of the Coiled Flesh
This beast has been taken over by a peculiar parasite that finds its way into its host and infects by turning the body inside out, twisting it into spiraled forms. The infection may be slow to fully take over, crippling its victim more and more until they are nothing but a writhing mass of coils.
Finally finished this up, a piece related to my world-building project Deivisceris 👁️🌀
Behelle: City of Waiting
This is part of The Many Dreams of Ca'eam, a magical realism anthology. See the introduction here.
In this dream, Ca'eam is known as Behelle, a city whose breath is forever held in waiting. The people of Behelle are always waiting on something. Waiting for tomorrow, for their next paycheck, for their date tonight, for a break. During the week, they wait for the weekend; yet, when it arrives, they spend the weekend waiting for the next week.
This is true for all that is awaited. The people of Behelle do not take time to experience these things, to be present in them, their minds always in some future event. Each and every moment is a purgatory, the liminal space between the real moments. But do not mistake these lives spent in waiting as empty, Behelle's people enjoy this wait very much, so much so that they are always waiting to wait again.
There is a belief among them that to wait is to live, and that, should one stop waiting— they will die. After all, what kind of life is one with nothing left to wait for? In this sense, death is the one thing Behelle's people will not await.
They will wait to live, but will never wait to die.
If this post doesn't make it clear— I'm trying to bring The Many Dreams of Ca'eam back! I don't know what I want to do with the old dreams, yet, whether they'll be ported to the new site or packed into a zine.
Either way, I'm hoping to start writing more dreams as they come to me. I've never really stopped thinking about them, and the recent (still ongoing by the by) "Faces" series I've been doing is subtly a Ca'eam thing too, since it's thematically focused on cities and uses a lot of the visual language from the original Ca'eam art.
This is me experimenting with the format, and finding my legs with it again. I don't know if I'd want to do the article-y format of the originals again, this more prosey focused one feels more fulfilling for me. I think the article thing from before was just because I was so submerged in World Anvil's culture that I couldn't conceive of simply...writing these as plain prose. I also worried about it feeling too derivative off Invisible Cities. But, I no longer care. The inspiration is clear, and that's ok!
But we'll see! Ca'eam was always experimental, and I don't want to leave that element behind.

HEARTCAGE
My entry for the One Page RPG Jam 2026 is done!
HEARTCAGE is a duet TTRPG about messy relationships, and the character flaws that lead to their ends. You fight, destroying each other's physical defenses before attacking the emotional ones that lead to you parting ways.
Give it a look!
A one-page duel between exes.
there was a great study a few years that went into the whole "ppl online are bigger jerks than irl cuz theres a virtual wall and no repercussions" and the researchers were expecting to see that be the case but it turns out that people who were really angry or argumentative online were also found to just be assholes in person and people who were pretty patient and nice online were found to be patient and nice in real person as well
and it just debunked that whole cynical idea that people will naturally be mean if theres no punishment for it
source another source
the researchers found that being online didnt make people more hostile, but that being online allowed already hostile people to dominate forum conversations, and the less aggressive people were much less likely to reply or engage, ending in just the aggressive people bickering at eachother
I refuse to believe we live in a cruel world. Despite all the trauma and tragedy, I've seen so many good things.
We live in a world of both care and cancer. For every cruelty, a kindness. For every danger, a beauty.
I won't let one make me forget the other.
Cursing myself once again for not organizing my fonts. The most that will come of this is that I'll tag and sort another chunk and then forget about it until this happens again on the next project. 5-20 at a time. Sometimes months apart. One day, I will have finally finished sorting them!
I found this weird game...
...want to try and play it?
It's been a little while since my last game, but the drought ends today! Weird, this doesn't seem to be in English… or any other language!
I°II°I.I.•II°IiI° (or GLYPHCRAWL) is my entry for this year's One-Page RPG Jam!
A wordless onepage TTRPG
This is definitely the most unusual game I've made to date. It was a very interesting design challenge, and I'm half tempted to set up a jam at some point to encourage more designers to give designing without text a go...
It has the seal of approval!
Aimless Rivalry
BANG! CRASH! WOOSH!
The sounds of heated battle wash over the industrial park.
Two Rivals, caught in a battle for the ages, move in a delicate dance around the other, each dodging gunfire, soaking haymakers and kicks, and exchanging quips.
Such is the way of Rivalry; if you kill your Rival, who will you enjoy the thrill of battle with?
* * * * *
AIMLESS RIVALRY is a postcard-sized roleplaying game for 2 players. Take turns describing your epic fight, accumulate points to use your Special Moves, and create a battle for the ages!
Available on Itch and RPG Trader. Free community copies available on both sites!

Being disabled is fucked up because it keeps me from doing hobbies (cleaning and organization)
I love looking at something that needs to be cleaned and sighing because I'm in too much pain to produce the strength required to scrub it today and repeating that for months until I can finally clean it
and then it has the GALL to get dirty again after a few weeks
Between rising costs and shipping nightmares in multiple countries I am honestly considering only designing games for at-home print going forward.
Like, I mostly engage with TTRPGs digitally or print em myself, I can't afford books and I can't physically hold most of them.
Dealing with printers is kind of a headache, and I as a designer make less money off prints than digital PDFs, especially when I have to make adjustments that require me to pay money I don't have for extra proofs.
Books are cool for longevity but they feel increasingly like a hobbyist luxury.
Ok I do want to clarify— TTRPGs as a whole are a luxury by default, since they're fun things we don't need to survive. What I mean is more that physical books are becoming an increasingly *inaccessible* luxury. Going up a tier from what they were previously.
