“wOmEn ArE tOo EmOtIoNaL”
its twentygayteen and i still don’t have a girlfriend i would like to speak to the management
#There’s two type of people in this world
i just want to fall in love, not the “you’re hot, i’m hot, let’s fuck” type of love, but the type where you see her in a light nobody has before. you notice the way one of her eyebrows raises ever so slightly when she gets confused, you notice how beautiful her sparkling eyes look when the sunlight touches them, you notice the way she hunches her shoulders back and taps her feet when she gets nervous, and each and every time she looks in your direction your heart pounds with such an intensity that it feels like thunder coursing through your veins. each second of eye contact makes you break a sweat, each accidental touch sends you into a frenzy, your body is buzzing and you feel as if you have been set on fire. you ache to know her deepest fears, her happiest moments, what makes her tick, what makes her who she is. i want to fall in love again and again each time i see her face, hear her voice, her laugh, or even smell her perfume. i want that type of love, god damn.
So guys…
I’d like to share something that I think would cheer us all up.
There was a Pride Parade that happened on the last day of June in Manila, Philippines (which, considering the flack LGBT people face on a daily basis in a predominantly Christian country, is a very brave thing to do).
And then the best thing happened:
Pictured above are Christians, holding signs, apologizing for the horrible way they’ve treated the LGBT community. They’ve attended four pride parades as part of their “I’m Sorry” campaign. Seeing this just… makes me really emotional in a happy way. Like, imagine if all Christians were as positive and mature and accepting as these folks right here… the world would be a much better place. These people acknowledged just how much damage they’ve done to LGBT people - and they APOLOGIZED FOR IT.

When you’re gay af but not out yet
Friend: So what have you done today?
Me, thinking: I woke up and cried cause I’m still not over Clexa. Next I got up and stared at Cophine posters that I bought but still haven’t hung in my room, admiring, as always, Delphine’s hair and sexy accent, Cosima’s confidence and wit and how cute nerds they were, following the crazy science together. Then I finished binging season 6 of OITNB and went on Tumblr to reblog a shit ton of Vaseman posts. After that I got furious cause I found out that no cinemas around me are screening Ocean’s 8 anymore, so again I went on Tumblr to look for photos and gifs of Cate Blanchett and other cast members just existing and thus making my existance better. While doing that I stumbled upon a post that reminded me that my very first gay ship, that I was crazy fan-girling about to my mom at 12 (without realizing how gay I was and obvs not being out) Calzona, was over and cried again. To improve my mood a bit I rewatched all Wayhaught scenes and THE interview when Dom asked Kat THE question. Then I went for a run listening to the Lesbian Jesus, Hayley Kiyoko, and hit my personal best cause she gives me life. When I got back I watched the newest Rose and Rosie’s video trying not to laugh too hard not to attract my fam’s attention. Lastly I went back to Tumblr to like many more posts about 20gayteen. Then I had a nap and dreamt that the bury your gays trope never happened, Lexa had a bulletproof skin, Carol got an Oscar and that I never had to go to fanfics for Trishica cause the blond WAS actually the brunette’s ex at the beginning.
Me, out loud: Not much, you?
It’s June 1st and I’m fucking gay
JUNE 24: The Stonewall Inn is declared a U.S. National Monument (2016)
On this day in 2016, President Barack Obama announced that the Stonewall Inn, the epicenter of the 1969 Stonewall Riots and the birthplace of America’s modern LGBT rights movement, was officially a U.S. National Monument under the protection of the U.S. National Parks Service.
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people from all around the world have been existing in the United States and combating systematic violence for centuries, but it wasn’t until the riots at the Stonewall Inn in New York City that those individual struggles coalesced into a true liberation movement. The Stonewall Inn has been a sacred place to the LGBT community since 1969, and with President Obama’s 2016 announcement the nation recognized that Stonewall should be sacred to all and that LGBT history cannot be divided from the whole of American history. The actual monument covers 8 acres in Greenwich Village aside from the Stonewall Inn itself and it is the very first site in the U.S. National Parks System dedicated to LGBT history.

Along with the consecration of The Stonewall National Monument, the National Parks Service also published LGBTQ America: A Theme Study of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer History in 2016 – a 1200-page study of LGBTQ American history as a part of their extensive “Who We Are” program. The study includes essays such as The Preservation of LGBTQ Heritage by Gail Dubrow, “Where We Could Be Ourselves”: African American LGBTQ Historic Places and Why They Matter by Jeffrey A. Harris, Breathing Fire: Remembering Asian Pacific American Activism in Queer History by Amy Sueyoshi, and so much more. If you’re a fan of our blog, we definitely recommend checking out what this study has to offer!

*50 years from now*
Old History Professor: In 2018 there was a rise in LGBT+ representation in media. Finally there was more music, movies and TV shows like never before for this community-
Child in the back: Is it true they called 2018 “20gayteen” because of how…”gay” it was?
Old History Professor: …..Yes.
Old History Professor: And it was the most fitting epithet ever.

Nothing, actually, because no item or person is specifically for anyone. So screw off with this post because straight girls wear crop tops, the military wear combat boots, rainbows can be a sign of peace, Tyler Joseph has a mustard yellow hoodie, some of my friends wear jean jackets, and almost everyone’s worn a beanie at one time in their life.
things reserved exclusively for straight people:
