So,,, I’m graduating. And last night was my final concert for my school. I’m going to be quick here and say that I’m so grateful for my school even through the stress, anger, frustration and tears doing these shows has caused.
Last night I ended up center stage singing our closing song and as soon as the music ended I couldn’t stop crying.

So I’m going to be gross and sentimental under the cut b;argggg
I am the oldest member now of my glee club. Me and one other boy have been in glee for a full four years at my school. I joined with my friend freshman year because I was in choir and I wanted us to be close and stay connected through this club...She left after a month. I did not. And I’m glad I didn’t.
I was shy. And by shy I mean like I shook just by being next to strangers. The fact I was alone in a sea of singing nerds that I believed were all superior to my own mediocre voice scared me to death. I didn’t talk to anyone for half a year basically.
We’d have these things called glee club idol where we’d just sing in front of each other and be comfortable and have a good time before auditioning for solos for out concerts. (Sadly we don’t do it any more. ) My first song I ever sang was “Artificial Flowers” Because Bobby Darin’s voice is delicious. My poor lil baby voice at the time,,, I sounded fine but cracked on the last note and tried SO HARd not to cry. I was the last to go anyway so I was shaking as I stood up to get my bags. But,,,this lil angle of a person came to me and hugged me and of course I was MORTIFIED that everyone knew I was crying.. But I’m grateful because that person became my best friend and honestly they’re still the most important person in my life... I wouldn’t know them if it weren’t for glee.
To get closer to said person I started doing audio and helped out more and more as we became buddies. Soon, after they graduated, I was seen by my instructor as the leading audio tech and stage hand for glee and even as her assistant. Which,,, I was until I finally decided to learn to say no this previous year. This was the most stress I’ve ever had in my life. I’ll glaze over it but oh BOY OH BOY,,,,
I love performing and always dreamed of singing and entertaining people but my voice is fine. It’s not incredible by any stretch of the imagination. I didn’t have a solo until the spring concert of my sophomore year. I sang Pompeii and it’s so cringe but people still consider it “ My song “ and that they think of me.And that’s funny.. I performed “What’s this” for Christmas, wowed people with my knowledge of the song “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” won a talent show and exposed my school to the magic of Broadway musicals. Freshman year I would have never expected to end up playing Usnavi in our performance of In the Heights, have a solo, and end the show... I ended up exactly where I dreamed of being and doing what I wanted to do...
There’s so much I want to say, so many emotions I have.. I loved glee even if I complained. I loved meeting and getting close to people. My baby grasshopper, my child, my bae, my fiancee, my berb, my mom, and more. So many more people I talk to and share this special connection with. I treasure my experience and am so goddamn lucky I got to be a part of something special even if it was for a little time.
Even if she could be crazy I’m thankful for my glee teacher and respect her immensely. And even if it took awhile I’m grateful that she saw something in me and put faith in me to perform for the school.
I will treasure last night forever, treasure glee, treasure high school. It’s not what I expected at all and I’m so happy for that. I glazed over so much, there’s too much to say.

One time when I was like nine I almost died thanks to the ocean. I got caught in a really bad wave and scrapped my back on the shells on the floor and my mom had to save me...
Also Moana is like a beautiful movie and the ocean is so pretty in it. It’s a top notch movie.
This is hard because I've literally worn mascara four times in my life. Each time it was awful. I hate eye makeup a lot, that's my fact then! Putting on eye makeup makes me uncomfortable and I'm scared I'm going to poke my eye out or go blind... thank you for asking! / v \
