She tagged this with Baps username so I'm gonna share my personal story with them real quick. This is genuinely the only way I got them to stop reposting my content.

PREFERENCING THIS!!!

THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR A WITCH HUNT!! I swear if ANY of y'all send baps death threats, I will personally block you. That is NOT okay, ever. This is not an excuse to send any sort of threat or hate to them, this is just my personal experience with them. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED, DO NOT DO IT!

So sometime last year, I asked my friend to reach out to baps on my behalf and tell them not to repost my content on their pinterest. This is her message & this was the reply she got.

So then I ended up doing some sleuthing and I found the account baps used on tumblr under the username of "cicialekvar" (they have since changed this and I can't find them again.) But everything matched up, it was them. (I have a screen recording comparison as well)

I ended up confronting them over things on a separate account, not letting them know who I was, and told them that they were stealing and reposting content, even tho it had "credits" it was still stolen and they needed to take my things down. I spoke to several screenshot creators prior who had had their things reposted and got proof of them saying they were not comfortable with them being reposted.

All the replies I got were them trying to play me as some sort of fool, calling me stupid, saying I had no idea what I was talking about and that I should "be doing something better with my time & that I could "sit on my account another day!" (in their exact words)

I ended up reaching out to them on my own HL pinterest myself, expressing how I felt and asking them to stop and they never replied.

Baps didn't take the pins down that had my screenshots, but they did stop reposting my content after that. I'm yet to find their new tumblr but genuinely the only way to get them to stop is to confront them about it. Pinterest has already done nothing about taking down stolen pins.

"But they credit!" Half of the time they get it wrong. And I don't care if they credit, if a creator has said no, IT MEANS NO!! Half of the screenshot creators on tumblr already have pinterests you can go follow with their content on it. This goes the SAME for the many artists who have had their content stolen by baps as well!

Baps has even reposted things that explicitly state "DO NOT REPOST" making it clear that they don't care. They want the exposure from it, not to give exposure to the creators.

Everyone wants to complain about how nobody is making HL content nowadays but if you do not support creators, they are going to stop making content! If you don't support creators from the source and instead support their reposters, THEY WILL STOP MAKING CONTENT!!

The new HL update has already made it so extremely hard to do any sort of in game photo content now with how many issues it has had. Please don't give screenshot creators another reason to leave.

There could be a huge chance that they are following several content creators right now under their noises and stealing content. Please reblog this so people will go support the true authors of the content and not a reposter!!

I'll briefly give my 2 cents on this topic.

I have also been affected in the past and some of my screenies have been reposted without my knowledge or consent. Basically, I just find it annoying to see that reposting other people's work is still a thing.

Firstly, credits to whom credits are due!

Secondly, it's up to the original creator to decide which platforms they want to be active on. Respect these decisions and follow people wherever they are at home, whatever platform they decide to use.

Creating screenshots may seem simple and easy for most, but it takes a lot of time and attention to detail to do it decently. As with any other form of artistic expression, a lot of heart and soul goes into it. I personally find reposting commissioned work and fanart particularly reprehensible and I don't have the slightest sympathy for people who do this.

Basically; use common sense and show basic manners.

Therefore I can only second Matty's statement:

Reblogging all of this to raise awareness. I said it before, DO NOT support Baps and people like them who refuse to contribute to the HL fandom with any of their own creations and get their jollies off of stealing from people and insulting them when they are asked to stop.

We are a small fandom with very few creators. Pinterest doesn't care. They have been asked time and time again since 2023 to stop and people are STILL supporting them. Unfortunately, because of how much traction Baps has gained, their stolen posts have made it to platforms like tiktok, instagram, and even here on tumblr. People have been using their reposts to make their own cover art on Wattpad. With commissions that others paid for.

Pinterest might not do anything, but as a fandom we HAVE to stop supporting people like this.

Pinterest might not care, but we have to be loud about these things so that something is done about it. If not from pinterest, then at least this can help educate others in the fandom who might not be aware and hope it doesn't continue happening.

I have also found my photos posted on other platforms without my permission. Sometimes on a platform I don’t even use, like Pinterest. It can feel violating to find your art posted elsewhere, stripped of the context and intention you created it with, sometimes even without credit. Screenshots take a lot of time between the posing, lighting, rendering, editing…not to mention any game crashes mid shooting and have to reset everything up. Creators put hours of love, skill, and personal storytelling into their photos—and they have a right to decide where and how their work is shared. We are proud of the creativity in this community, but it only thrives when we respect each other’s work and boundaries. Protecting our art is protecting our trust.

BONUS, when time travel gives you an opportunity for a do-over:

Tangled treating its audience by not leaving them confused or being omitted from anything for the entirety of the movie. We are told and made perfectly aware of each of the character's motives, and the plot twists are more or less foreshadowed.

Right from the very beginning of the movie, we know Gothel is the villain of the story, yet Rapunzel doesn't know that. We see her being manipulated and deceived by Gothel so it's very satisfying to see when Rapunzel finally stood up to her.

Scary-looking ruffians? Actually big softies singing about their dreams five seconds later.

Even when Rapunzel thought Eugene took the crown and left her, they could've excluded Eugene's perspective from us and left us heartbroken as Rapunzel. But they didn't.

Eugene dying was foreshadowed in the very first line of the movie, "This is the story of how I died."

Rapunzel's tear reviving Eugene is a plot twist the audience and the characters didn't know about, unless the audience has known about the original Brothers' Grimm story of Rapunzel healing her prince with her tears.

And if the audience did know about the original story, they'd know Flynn Rider being a thief is a twist, and it's a twist that his real identity is actually Eugene Fitzherbert. Though from observant audiences they can tell Eugene wasn't the rogue thief he's trying to make himself out to be. (And someone's reaction on Youtube immediately knew Flynn Rider wasn't his real name).

Anyway, Tangled is a story that started with the sun and the audience aren't left in the dark.
