The translation is a little wonky, but I think the person is saying these are the two friends Tom visited Pompeii with in 1988. They look kind of familiar, but I can't place them. Do you recognize either? From this and other pictures we've seen in the past, it's funny how Tom's university friends all seem to be taller than him when Tom is so tall. www,instagram,com/p/Da8PqOAjASQ

Yeah, that seems to be the intention - but the year's off, of course. That's cool he was able to take them to the premiere after that trip was the inspiration.

I've never seen them before. One is named Anthony Bowles - he took the picture of Tom and is credited wherever it's printed - and I forget the other one's name (Tom mentioned it on the BBC this morning though).
