A New Journey Begins on the Nakshikatha Commuter 🚆

Last Friday turned into one of those unforgettable days.

I left home while my respected senior railfan brother, Solaiman Hossain Jewel, began his journey from Joydebpur Junction aboard the Chilahati Express. We met at Dhaka Airport Railway Station before heading to one of the calmest and most beautiful stations in the capital, Dhaka Cantonment Railway Station.

Standing beside the graceful curve of the railway line, we spent hours filming passing trains. Every arrival carried its own rhythm, every departure left behind another beautiful memory. Watching the magnificent Subarna Express thunder past was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the day.

With only a little money in my pocket, I quietly accepted the kindness of my brother, who bought snacks for both of us. As the golden afternoon light slowly faded, we shared stories, laughed, talked about trains, exchanged photography ideas, and simply enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere that only a railway station can offer.

What made the place even more magical were the tiny yellow wildflowers growing beside the tracks and the aircraft flying overhead every few minutes. It felt like two different worlds were crossing paths in the same sky, one racing along steel rails and the other soaring through the clouds.

As evening arrived, we returned to Dhaka Airport Railway Station. I waved goodbye as my brother departed on the Brahmaputra Express, while I quietly made my way back home.

The day came to an end, but the memories remain alive. Railfanning has never been just about trains. It is about friendship, shared passion, quiet conversations, and those fleeting moments that become unforgettable chapters of life.

One Friday. Three childhood friends. Countless unforgettable memories. 🇧🇩

Our journey began with Jumu'ah prayer at the National Mosque, Baitul Mukarram, where faith and friendship came together after years apart.

From there, we explored the heart of Dhaka, enjoying the famous chicken khichuri and chicken polao at the historic Bangla Hotel in Gulistan. A cup of hot coffee during a light rain made the afternoon even more memorable.

The adventure continued through the busy streets of Old Dhaka, a visit to Jagannath University, a refreshing stop for the legendary Beauty Lassi, and finally to the vibrant Sadarghat Launch Terminal, where I experienced Bangladesh's iconic river port for the very first time.

Watching the massive launches, crossing the Buriganga River on a small engine boat for only 10 Taka, reaching Keraniganj, and returning by a traditional sampan reminded me that the best adventures are often the simplest ones.

This is more than just a travel vlog. It is a story of friendship, nostalgia, and discovering the soul of Dhaka through its streets, food, people, and rivers.

Every journey leaves behind a memory. This one will stay with us forever. ❤️🇧🇩

I call myself a beast, not because I have claws, but because every beautiful thing I touch seems to wilt before my eyes.

I never touch flowers.

Not because I hate their colors,but because they bloom with a tendernessmy hands were never taught to carry.

So I stand at a distance,watching petals converse with the wind,like old lovers exchanging secretsI was never meant to hear.

And rain...

I never truly touch the rain.

I let it fall through the spaces between my fingers,afraid that if I hold it too long,it might learn how broken I am.

The sky cries,the earth listens,and I remain somewhere in between—a stranger to both.

People think loneliness is silence.

It isn't.

Loneliness is watching a flower bloomand having nobody to tell how beautiful it is.

Loneliness is standing beneath a stormand feeling drier than the desert inside your chest.

Perhaps I am a beast after all.

A creature too rough for petals,too heavy for raindrops,too late for spring.

Yet every night,when the world folds itself into darkness,I still pray for impossible things—

for one flower that won't fear my touch,

for one rainstormthat will stay long enoughto wash the beast away.

And maybe then,

for the very first time,

I will discover

that I was never a beast at all. 🌧️🥀✨

I picked up a fallen flower today.

Not because it was rare.

Not because it was beautiful.

But because it reminded me of something.

How strange life is.

A flower spends days blooming under the sun, dancing with the wind, surviving storms, only to end up forgotten on the ground.

Yet even after falling, it remains beautiful.

Maybe that's why I stopped and picked it up.

Some things lose their place but never lose their worth.

Some people carry silent storms inside them and still find a way to bloom.

And some flowers, even after leaving the branch, continue telling their story to anyone willing to notice.

Perhaps we are not so different after all.

Just travelers beneath the same sky, trying to find meaning between blooming and falling.

Yesterday, Dhaka wore two different faces.

For nearly three hours, I wandered through the rain with my action camera, chasing a feeling I could never fully capture. The skies opened above Rabindra Sarobar and Dhanmondi Lake, turning the city into something beautiful, almost magical.

For a moment, the rain felt like a five-star luxury that money could never buy.

The trees danced in the wind. The lake rippled under countless raindrops. The city seemed softer, quieter, and strangely alive.

But every story has another side.

As the rain continued, roads disappeared beneath water. Drains overflowed. Traffic slowed to a crawl. Thousands of people struggled just to get home. What looked like poetry from a distance became hardship up close.

And there I was, walking through rainwater, canal water, overflowing drains, and flooded streets, filming every moment with a camera that suffered as much as I did.

Maybe that's what cities are.

A place where beauty and suffering exist side by side.

Where one person finds peace in the rain while another fights through it.

This vlog is not just about a rainy day in Dhaka.

It's about the contrast between luxury and reality, between admiration and frustration, between the city we dream about and the city we actually live in.
