DESCRIPTION

When your village is razed to the ground, you're left fleeing with an exiled prince. You can trust no one but each other. Your father's dying wish was to protect the prince, but can you really trust a man who was exiled from his kingdom?

Journey across the borders in search of allies. But in this deadly game of treachery and deceit, there is more than just the prince's life at stake. Will you flee from the past that haunts you or will you embrace the fate that awaits you?

The decision is yours.

Crown of Exile is a 17+ interactive fiction game, with its main focus on character development and interactions with NPCs. It is intended for mature audiences and will contain scenes of violence, mild sexual themes and vulgar language. The game is still a work in progress and is currently being written.

FEATURES

Play as male or female.

Romance or befriend one of four characters.

Uncover the shrouded history of your past.

Delve into politics and scheming.

Help the exiled prince reclaim his throne.

Flee from your past or embrace your fate.

Follow a single religion, choose more than one or reject the gods completely.

Develop skills in leadership, politics and warfare.

ROMANCE OPTIONS

Prince Irus (he/him): Prince Irus is the illegitimate child of King Erlan and a low-born noblewoman. Stubborn and headstrong, Prince Irus believes that the throne of Cyre belongs to him. He is determined to reclaim his rightful place as King, regardless of what anyone says.

Queen Elora (she/her): Queen Elora is the ruler of Vinia, a neighbouring kingdom to Cyre. Queen Elora is charming and attractive, but beneath her beauty is a cunning woman who wields her power with expertise.

Sir Oren (he/him): Sir Oren is the captain of the guard of the Vinian Royal Guard. While Sir Oren can come across as straitlaced, he can be kind and generous to those he respects.

Anu (she/her): Anu is a Priestess of Ehulla and believes that the only way to end the war between Ishari and Cyre is through bloodshed. Brash and unafraid of confrontation, Anu will fight for what she believes in.

Dena (gender selectable): To be announced.

Last update (public demo): 1 January 2024 (first 8 chapters). Last Patreon update: 27 June 2025 (partial Chapter 12 release). Please note that the demo will no longer be updated for the public build.

So happy to see that the demo is now on Steam!! I was wondering though if it’s going to be available for macs? When I went to download it currently it only supports windows😔 Regardless seeing this story getting near it’s end to be fully published is amazing!!

Thank you 🌸 I hope to get a Mac and Linux build out. I went with Windows since it was the easiest and most straightforward method right now to make the Next Fest deadline, but with the full game (and hopefully the polished demo), I'll be able to get more builds out ✨️

Hello lovely people! I have some exciting news to share: the demo is officially dropping this weekend! I’m currently putting the finishing touches on the build and running through final tests to make sure everything is just right for you.

What’s new in this version? While Part One remains largely the same, I’ve tucked in a few new surprises:

Ahlf’s Extra Scene: A little something special for those who’ve been asking!

Heart Indicators: Romance options for Dena now feature a ❤️ to help you follow your heart.

Added Flavour: Extra dialogue and descriptions throughout to make the world feel even more lived-in.

The 'big' new content additions will be arriving from Part Two onwards, but I can’t wait for you to jump back into this updated world.

Can’t wait to play it once I get home later. <3 I was wondering though, will the game be available anywhere else, like itchio or on Patreon as a one-time purchase? Because my country has blocked your game on Steam sadly. The demo page is accessible just fine, but I get an error every time I try to view the full game’s page.

Thank you! 💕 Unfortunately, I've chosen only to release the game on Steam and because of the sexual content, it's been restricted. I likely will look into a Patreon purchase opposed to itch.io but more in that towards the full game release ✨️

Hey there! Kind of a random question but I recently rejoined the patreon and was catching up on the side stories and noticed you stopped writing NSWF...was that some sort of policy change? I vaguely remember some asks about it on this blog but wasn't a patreon member atp so I'm guessing I'm missing context.

Not complaining if that is the case to be clear! I just didn't know if there was new rules re: NSFW stuff for both the patreon and asks on here ^^;

Hiya! I was alternating between SFW and NSFW stories where the chapters weren't going to be updated or if I had no in-game content to explore so it was more non-canon stories 😊 Now that the first draft is done, it's easier to write non-canon, future event type stories but I'll likely do a SFW, romance themed set of RO stories for February 🌸
