Really though I'm loving book 6 already. And there's so many parallels to be had with our newest villain. One eyed like Kairos, a needs must villain like Cat, and she herself says at first she thought he was the second coming of the Saint. Also Apostate is such an interesting name for someone who was apparently religious (he was waiting on angelic punishment, wanted his powers to be Light so bad etc).

While trying to avoid falling in the mentor story trap Cat did remove the protections it'd have given tancred. Apostate probably did have something anti neshamah as akua speculated for such a quick and involved attack. Dead King is just too genre savvy for all of them really. I'm just still gonna pretend Tancred can be saved, Cat did say he was too young for snatching resurrections from angels. Laughs in denial.
