hello! this is from a while ago, but i don't really understand when you said 'to the person who submitted an “i’m illegal in over 70 countries because i am gay B)” joke please never submit again' is that a bad thing to say? (i don't mean to be rude, it's just that i do not get it. thank you!)

the joke comes from a really privileged point of view where it's only ever people not from those countries who are cracking it. those who are from or living in those countries have to, you know, deal with the consequences. people have had to flee their homes because of the rampant homophobia in their homes and in their home nations. at least, that's how i and a lot of other people see it.
