anyone else wish we got a name for this one scientist NPC from Seven Sirens?

I mean. she has a talk sprite. she has a unique design. she's relevant to the story and progression of Seven Sirens in that Shantae helps with her submarine

she's not the ONLY case of "minor NPC with a talk sprite who never gets named" in the Shantae games - not even in Seven Sirens - but IDK something about her design always stuck with me and made me wish she actually had a name

anyway my proposal for her name is Salva Dribble. if anyone has their own suggestions I'd love to hear them!

so in other news - today I realized that I accidentally made fucking Watch Quest of all things the equivalent of an Absolute Shantae AU years before I even knew what the hell an "Absolute AU" is (EDIT: upon further looking into things I now realize that this post came out BEFORE any of the Absolute universe stuff so uh. I was actually ahead of the curve there!). and I just wanted to share that with you all because I think this is funny as hell

#shantae #not a quote #for anyone who does not know what the hell i'm talking about - and to be fair i'm only like half-sure that i know what i'm talking about-#-because i'm not really into dc comics - dc has a thing called the absolute universe that's basically just #“how can we change key components of these character's backstories to make them edgier while still keeping them true to themselves”#resulting in shit like wonder woman being raised in hell and riding a skeleton pegasus (which is metal as fuck and i approve immensely)#and some people have started to apply those principles to other media to make absolute versions of those media #and like. i did not set OUT to make the watch quest au darkier and edgier #but i did set out with the goal of “how can i take these characters in interesting new directions with the new setting”#and well. [gestures to the linked post] those new directions WERE slightly darker and edgier even if that was not my intention #if i actually put down the thoughts i have had regarding how other characters would work in the watch quest au this would be even funnier #because the changes to some of the others i've envisioned fit this even more #shout out to watch quest holly lingerbean who i threw in the torment nexus for fun

Shantae being able to grant wishes is like the big fandom misconception mostly shared by people who only played Pirate’s Curse or just saw her from porn.

But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think having all the series knowledge doesn’t loop back around to it being really funny and interesting to give her wish powers. I’m not even gonna pretend it is like in a deep, sad sorta way. She just can’t be trusted with it, neither can her friends.

Totally incomparable with writing this series with any sort of stakes, but as a one-off where that’s the gimmick? Much comedic potential.

Ah, yeah, so - queue of quotes has finally run out! It was running rather low to begin with and then the past few days I've had to deal with power outages and fluxes thanks to a very quick burst of snow in my area, so...yeah.
