What is everybody’s favorite symbolism found in The Hunger Games Series?
This is always a question I love asking fellow fans. For me (and maybe this has already been discussed at length here), it hands down has got to be the Everlark kiddos. I love the fact that their mixed features visually symbolize the end of the Merchant/Seam divide in District 12, which of course is a microcosm of the dismantling of the games that their parents kick-started. The fact that Everlark is the inverse of Burdock and Asterid is also not lost on me, and I find even more symbolism there. Despite their similar merging, we know that they basically got one of each in Katniss and Prim and thus did not see the visual manifestation…yet. I believe this shows how even though there were concerted efforts to tear down these various systems/customs prior, sometimes it takes generations to bear the fruit. And lo and behold, their daughter and son-in-law did just that. I get emotional if I think about this too much, same with that damn pearl.
See, it’s clear Suzanne is a scriptwriter at heart because this scene right here is written to be a huge full circle moment for Katniss’ character arc that would reflect even better in a movie or tv show than a book.
It’s just strange the actual filmmakers didn’t utilize this moment at all.

you should try crossdressing more. both because it's fun and because seeing the different ways clothes are manufactured by gender will give you 50 new reasons to be pissed off. become radicalized against misogyny by flannel quality

"im not saying feminism is for everyone but-" the fuck? well im saying that. feminism is for everyone. yes even cishet men will benefit from feminism and cishet men should be feminists because cishet men are indeed harmed by the patriarchy; nowhere near to the extent that women are, but having a culture that is fully equal and anti-misogynist benefits everyone. have we forgotten that lifting up the disenfranchised people in society helps all of us as a collective? "im not saying that universal and unalienable human rights are for everyone but-" YES THE FUCK THEY ARE LOL
