Vampire James/human regulus purely because the people around them would expect the complete opposite. They see regulus - cold, cruel, capable of killing someone if they so much as look at someone he loves the wrong way - and James - happy, welcoming, the equivalent of sunshine if it had to take a physical form - and their first thought wouldnt never be that James is a vampire because regulus fits all the stereotypes. Bonus points if regulus gets blood for James purely because James feels too bad to hurt other people.

“No,” Remus says quickly, forcing a small smile. “He’s alright. I think he just doesn’t like sharing a room, is all.”

“That’s not it,” Peter says through a mouthful of toast. “I’m pretty sure he just doesn’t like you.”

“Oh, Petey,” Mary giggles leaning her head fondly against his shoulder as she gives the top of his head a gentle pat. “Never change.”

Peter raises an eyebrow, licking a few stray crumbs from his bottom lip while shooting Remus a bewildered look. “I…wasn’t planning on it…?”

cut to sirius having normal arguments with his friends but his breathing's shaky, he's trembling with panic and his eyes are slightly unfocused as if he isn't there in the room with them. remus being the first to catch on to this whenever it happens and pulling him to his chest— even if they had been arguing two seconds before— and whispering small reassurances "it's alright" "i'm not angry, sirius" "you aren't there" "it's okay, pads. you're okay"
