It's been a while.

This is still here?
Who is still here?
A designer who was asked to design an elevator interface and assumed that it was to carry something other than human beings would indeed be a different kind of thinker. But it’s analogous to asking someone to design a better bus and then being satisfied when they built you a submarine. Or asking for an apple and being hit with a lobster. I mean, why can’t an apple be a lobster? I’ve read Foucault. I can do this all week.
Sure, let’s discard language as a constraint. What could possibly go wrong?
I also tell other designers they are wrong about things over at Medium when I am bored.
I rugged up, put a jacket on the dog, and took set off on a leisurely one-hour walk down to Fitzroy. The earlier wind had eased, the sun was honey in the sky, and the new Matthew Sweet record twanged on my AirPods. I put on my mirrored aviators to ensure I looked as aloof as possible, but as I strolled down High Street people smiled at me anyway. Everyone smiles at me when I’m walking Hitch.
I even saw the lights of the Goodyear blimp. – The Upside
Hey look! I have a blog on Wordpress!
Are people still here?
Well?
Recurring lines
In The Wire, McNulty has a recurring line “The fuck did I do?”
I’ve just rewatched S2 of Mad Men and Don Draper keeps asking people “What do you want me to say?” Or ”What do you want to hear?”. I remember writing about the final episode of Mad Men and noting Draper’s plasticity, his ability to just be someone else (hell, he did used to be someone else), and it’s odd to notice that lack of self, that lack of spine so early in his narrative arc.
The fuck did I do?
50. The conservatives are fools: They whine about the decay of traditional values, yet they enthusiastically support technological progress and economic growth. Apparently it never occurs to them that you can't make rapid, drastic changes in the technology and the economy of a society without causing rapid changes in all other aspects of the society as well, and that such rapid changes inevitably break down traditional values.

Fuck, I still have Tumblr!
A suitcase with abandonment issues? Even luggage has baggage. (at Singapore Changi International Airport Terminal 2)
Two decades ago, 1 in 16 Americans believed that Army rule would be a good way to run the country. Today, it is 1 in 6. The picture is even bleaker among the young and affluent: Support for military rule in this group has increased nearly sixfold, from 6 percent to 35 percent.
Britons’ radical rejection of the status quo should terrify all liberal democracies.
Holy fuck. One in three young Americans supports martial law.
Yes, Tronc shall take the corn feed of journalism and funnel it into the optimization-group goose, to make delicious foie gras that will be consumed by the digital natives.
