Lisa Milroy Finsbury Square 1995
Lisa Milroy’s Finsbury square relates to my trip to London as it inspires structure and proportion, like the photography of architecture I documented throughout the day. This also goes towards the collection and Obsessions project - through the windows. The use of a large amount of windows shows obsession through collecting an object and building it into an architectural structure.
Gavin Turk Gallery Gavin Turk This piece stands as a documentation of an artist creating his work, and the outcome of his work. Gavin Turk relates to my Skeleton photography as it documents the work’s influence and creation. It shows a history of an art work and how it was made - influencing the use of documentation through photography in my work.
London Tate and Architecture Photography 2017 In order to explore our Ghosts project, we took an educational trip to different museums in London including Tate and the Gavin Turk Gallery. It influenced my work throughout the day as well as seeing the interesting works in the gallery, but allowing me to see different structures and proportions. This allowed me to expand on my studies and influences. The museums we visited held a wide variety of works, and although all may not have been relevant to our specific topics’ they all influenced us in different ways. It also allowed us to see how you can interpret different topics and effectively use materials. I strongly recommend exhibitions, museum trips and day trips anywhere to those who look for inspiration - or just want extra knowledge.
STRANGER An Exhibition of Self Portraits
‘’This exhibition aims to illuminate the relevance of self-portraiture, and its aesthetic value through each individual's varied approach to self-representation. Each work illustrates an intimate conversation between the artist and the canvas, an exploration into self-perception through painting and drawing.’’ - Isabel Bingley The exhibition, ‘Stranger’, consists of multiple works created by different artists with the subject matter being their own portrait. It allows viewers to realise how different people see themselves, and the ways in which a distorted view of yourself can effect the results. The use of self-portraiture shows how the artists can develop and explore themselves and their style of art, through intimacy. Similar to that stated, ‘’Each work illustrates an intimate conversation between the artist and the canvas’’. This is extremely useful as it gets the artists in tune with their own person.
Rembrandt Self-portrait
Rembrandt’s self-portrait does not look like the self-portrait I produced, however it is relevant through the ideology. He created this to explore how he can allow himself to produce better drawings and learn techniques, dimensions, proportions and improvements he can make throughout. This is relative to my work as my self-portrait was created in order to explore the same aspects. Both works created with an educational purpose.

Lost boy Pen, ink, watercolour and water 2017 This project was an observational study of portrait, experimenting with more diverse materials. The study was reflective on how I could improvement in drawing and benefitted me by allowing me to see mistakes in proportion without having to go into great detail or refinement.
Wrapped in white Photography 2017 This project shows the close-ups of objects and how the ignored marks and crinkles can look interesting, and be great drawing material. The project itself was based on memories: secrets. The activity was to wrap everyday objects with string and any paper and create unique compositions, which we then chose aspects to draw from. It allowed you to see the finer details and make everyday objects look unidentifiable; relating it to secrets.
Skeletons in the closet Photography 2017
The purpose was for documentation of a study, for further continuation. However, I found some beauty in capturing a moment of history which would continue in the future.
Left Behind Paint Photography 2017
The photography project which was the purpose of these photographs was based on memories. I thought, as an artist who works in a studio daily, it would be a reflective, experimental and interesting sub-theme by doing ‘Forgotten Paint’. This would allow and influence the audience, and other artists, to notice the smaller aspects of their world which usually go neglected and never get noticed.
