Funko Pop or custom Emoji Blitz blog avatars are so tacky. They put me off following because blogs with these pfps are in a clique 9/10 times

A mutual in law runs an annual hunger games simulator game. Sometimes multiple times a year. Some mutuals participate. I'm delighted they're having fun, but there are so many posts about it so often that it clogs dash and is basically spam.

Sending yourself anonymous hate so idiots will feel bad for you and jump to your defense and give you attention has to be one of the most cringe and desperate things I've ever seen.

I really wish that people could learn to block and move on when they don't like someone, or to behave normally when they get blocked. If you've been blocked and you immediately stalk that person's blog and the blogs of their affiliates, that's weird behavior and you need to look into getting therapy.

this is going to sound a bit mean, so preemptive apology. but it seems like people just... can't write all that well anymore?

i try to be understanding because in all fairness, on top of an english degree, my job is literally a proofreader, so maybe i do have a higher caliber of writing (though i don't personally think my writing is anything special). but then the people i start writing with, it's like... there's no way they're the same age as or older than me and writing like that. sometimes i'll get a reply or a starter, and the person will be like 35, and it's like, how did i receive this?!

and i do my due diligence. i'm upfront about how much i typically write per reply in my ads. i send samples. they read the samples. i straight up had someone tell me that our "writing styles are similar" and proceeded to reply to my six paragraph starter with a few bland sentences. and it's not the length i'm complaining about, to be clear. i've received well written shorter responses. the writing itself just isn't good.

and this has led to me ghosting, like, a lot. i wouldn't be shocked if i have a reputation as a ghoster. but it feels like it's so hard nowadays to find someone whose writing style i can click with when it didn’t feel like this just a couple years ago! i know it sounds mean, but i don't think i'm crazy for expecting grown adults to have a writing level higher than the average middle schooler, especially in a hobby centered around reading and writing!

on top of that, they're not reading, either! so many times i've been contacted for rp, and it's clear the person just did not read my ad. what is going on? am i just unlucky?!

I’m close to just giving up.

I was rping 1x1 with a friend for a very very very niche fandom. But some things started happening.

First it was on hiatus because of Ramadan, which okay I can respect that. Then it was school, which I also understood. But in between that, he started getting into other, more popular things—even writing fic, and I’m so tired.

I dunno what to do. It’s June now and we haven’t done anything since Feb. Finding another person that’s into the very very very niche fandom is impossible.

Made a well crafted fandom verse for my OCs. My writing is solid. My characters are strong.

No rpers from that fandom are following me back though; they're too caught up in their cliques.

Guess I'll go fuck myself then. 🫠

people on here are so f*cking fake and vile. they'll praise you and your writing/characterization one week, then silently block you the next. this isn't a one-off, either. maybe it's me. or maybe not, given I have many mutuals who say it's happened to them on tumblr too. idfk anymore.

im always super embarrassed and chicken out of trying to engage with roleplay finders or anything because im really craving isekai-style fandom crossover roleplayes but that feels like such an embarrassing thing to ask for, especially when the characters id want to play are so niche </3

it'd be great if everyone could just use xkit and cut your posts. the built-in one for tumblr is not good for roleplay.
