Intro Posting Alone On a Friday Night?

hell yeah i am. inevitably gonna edit this substantially, but there’s some stuff i feel is relevant to say up front while i’m figuring out how i want to present this blog.

for starters:

• it/her is currently the favored pronoun roulette. hashing things out but i suspect i might be genderfluid.

• as my bio says, sometimes i post/reblog about 18+ topics. what that includes will be discussion of sex and kink, and more often than that raunchy and inappropriate jokes/humor. what this does not include is single posts of porn or erotica. i’m not gonna throw out something meant to arouse with no other purpose.

• if i’ve missed a tag, feel free to tell me! i do my best to block general triggers, though i’m not quite sorted on how to handle tagging. for spoilers, i reblog them only occasionally and as of 5/2 all’re marked “#that’s how the cookie crumbles”. my likes are a wild west for spoilers, so if you’re perusing them for some reason, be wary!

Help out a disabled latina trans woman stay afloat?

Hi everyone, my name is Vi and I'm a trans woman from south america with a disabling neurological condition. I've had extensive nerve damage and years of underemployment has only make it worse to the point where my mobility is heavily compromised and my grip strength is barely nonexistent. Holding on to objects is an ordeal and moving around is extremely difficult.

To make matters worse, the price of groceries gets hiked up ridiculously month to month were i live, sometimes 20% or more, and minimum wage only covers about 1/4th of it, not even taking into account the prices of the medicine me and my mom need, since i struggle with diabetes and she's a cancer patient, and taking even less into account the costs of housing and constant trips to doctor's appointments.

I know things are tough for everyone but please, if you could help us out in any way possible I would be grateful from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for reading so far and I hope you have a good day.

Can I give a shout out to a Brazilian photographer I adore? Rafael Freire @orafafreire on Insta, he's a Black Brazilian photographer that mainly focus on portraits of Black models. i think avoidance is such a little-recognized ocd compulsion. all the time i talk to people with ocd who are like "i was always having intrusive thoughts about using kitchen knives and harming myself or others but i'm okay now because i just stopped using knives ever 👍 so i'm good now"

and i'm like unfortunately i have bad news.

if you don't know why this doesn't work, the issue is that ocd never stops when you implement a compulsion. it evolves. today you've "solved" it by never using a knife again (and losing access to an important cooking tool, thus limiting an aspect of your life) but in a few months or a year it'll be that forks are dangerous too. and hey, isn't it risky to use the stove? avoidance will even begin to manifest in places you might not recognize.

the point is that OCD compulsions are never solutions, they're actually the problems. the intrusive thoughts SEEM like the problem and the compulsions FEEL like the solution. and that's how it getsya.
