Finished up painting this design onto some black cotton. A smaller version of the direction I'm feeling drawn in. I'm calling it a Spirit Tapestry. These pieces will seek to illuminate mysteries, cycles and beings of nature. The idea is that the tapestry will weave a story through shape, texture, color and imagery. The end result won't be so much the piece, but rather the feeling and emotion that it evokes when all parts come together in the process center of the brain. I'm hoping to have rather large, elaborate mixed media pieces as I dive more deeply into the concept. Maybe incorporate the other senses down the road.
