-looks over at her confused, raising an eyebrow as she glances at a few guards on the wall staring at her and another man stop walking to stare her before shaking her head- No, I don’t think so.
Ah, well.. dehydration's a bitch so..
It’s just so hot out today.
Wouldn't you rather drink it?
[ Suspicion dared to colour Tyler’s expression for a brief moment, though she wasn’t sure why. Knowing this girl would likely only cause complications in Tyler’s life at the Outpost, and yet she just had this desperate feeling in the pit of her stomach that she did, in fact, recognize the blonde. Any and all reminders from her life pre-apocalypse life were outrageously unwelcome, and yet… there she was. Trying to determine why she could remember seeing this girl before. ]
Are you saying that because you really don’t recognize me, or because you don’t want to?
[ Blonde tresses blew with the wind, her lips pursed. Thoughts pounded within her head, memories flooding back to her like waves crashing along the shoreline. She'd remembered seeing the girl ---- occasionally walking down the halls of their high school. She remembered having her for a class, and that was it. Just another student, another classmate. A reminder of her life before the infection. And it bugged her, knowing that a bit of her past has followed her here to the outpost. So she simply turned her head, and refused to acknowledge the fact that she had indeed seen her in the past. The past is better left in the past. She'd learned that. ]
Look... I'd rather not delve into the past. Yes. I do recognize your face, but we never spoke. That's it, and that's all there is to it.
[ Her tone was bitter and blunt. It just came naturally, she'd been accustomed to this kind of attitude ever since the great loss that changed her character completely. Once a sweet girl, now a cruel one. It was strange what this world has done to humanity. It's crushed it entirely, ruining the lives of many innocents, shaping them into the monsters they are now. ]
I used a bat for the longest time until I broke it. Then I got an axe that worked even better. One of those.
Ah, then it must've been a wooden bat. Heard metal ones work far better. At least the axe was an improvement.
You’re speaking for yourself, right? Because I could probably never pull that off.
Practice. That's all I'm saying.
Hit one that’s moving and then I might give you the praise your after
I'm not after anyone's praise.. and certainly not yours.
You have a good aim.
It's one of my few skills, actually. Though you already knew that..
I don’t think so. Knives aren’t my weapon of choice.
Then what is your weapon of choice?
I have. Only every third or fourth shot sticks.
[ Cue the soft laugh. ]
That's embarrassing --- don't ya' think?
[Aidan grins and nods at the wall she had thrown the knife at] Not bad.
[ Marie was just about ready to fling another blade towards the target when she heard a voice beside her, causing her to stop in her tracks. She canted her head to the side to see who it was, and couldn't help but allow the smug smirk to play on her lips. ]
So I've been told..
Walkers are called Walkers for a reason.
I'm well aware of that.
— Right. Just make sure no one’s as close to the target as I was, and you’ll be golden.
Not my fault that you stepped in the way while I so happened to have already released the blade. But dully noted; I'll be sure to keep that in mind.
I don’t believe that for a second. It’s a lot harder than it looks.
Well maybe you should give it a shot.
---- this is actually a lot easier than it looks.
[ Every inch of her skin crawled with suspicion and curiosity as Tyler gazed down at the younger blonde. There was something about her face, her hair, and even the way she spoke that just seemed… familiar to the girl— like she had seen and heard her before. But Tyler knew the probability of ever seeing someone she had known before was lower than low. Not even that could stop Tyler’s stomach from knotting up, however, and so she simply took a step closer to the girl, and studied her face for a long beat. ]
I’m Tyler. Where are you from, Marie? I’m sorry for the question, but… I feel like I’ve seen you around before, or something, and I know that’s crazy, considering everyone who comes to the outpost are strangers unless they’ve traveled together.
[ Though a part of her did somewhat found the girl familiar, she refused to believe it. She'd prefer to forget about those in her past --- just as she did with her family. Coming to the outpost was a way of escaping her past; a way of forming herself into a new person. The blonde let out a shaky breath, unsure as to why Tyler insisted on learning more about her. It's not like they actually knew each other before the infection struck ---- right? ]
It's not like it matters.. but since you asked; Seattle.
---- I doubt it.
