IN DREAMS AND REPRISES: An ISAT OC series
All posts from this blog after this one will be tagged as "idar/in dreams and reprises" and "isat spoilers"
"Dora" Intro
"I am...."Dora". You can think of me as your guide, or something like that =w="
[SPOILERS FOR ALL OF ISAT BELOW]
Mayu Intro
Your friendly neighborhood wanderer, journeying across all of Mwudu. He has chased after the horizon from a young age, to the point that he very rarely, if ever, returns home. Due to this, he has seen much of his homeland, to the point that there is very little left for him to explore. He ran into Elluka when they both coincidentally ducked into the same cave to wait out a thunderstorm. Seeing that he was a fellow traveler, she asked him to join her and act as a guide, to which he agreed. They searched through Mwudu and even encountered things that Mayu had not seen before, but the sight of what he has already traveled did not hold the same sense of wonder it once did. When he heard of Kofukuās plight, he almost instantly agreed to help, as he wanted to travel somewhere comepletely new to him.
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!)
Impatient and observant, Mayu holds the heart of someone who just simply canāt stand stagnation and staying stationary. He obviously enjoys traveling, keeping a habit of journaling his experiences and even making some sales by publishing them as travel guides; and visiting antique shops whenever he does reach a town. Even though he can seem kind of distant, heās actually pretty caringāand surprisingly gullible, often getting scammed. His desire for movement is pretty good at giving people hope for tomorrow. Good at being fast and making sure you keep pace.

Wakaba Intro
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!)
One of the healers from a temple in Yuqing, particularly skilled in easing fatigue and pain. While he originally went into the profession out of interest, he has grown tired and worn from the high-stress life. He met Kayo and Tenou when the former came to request healing services, and the three got along well. After Tenou departed for other lands, he had Crafted a hairpin to keep Kayoās condition stable when they decided to try and investigate something. He traveled with them, as he enjoyed his friendās company and because he saw it as an excuse to leave the temple; suggesting Ka Bue as a place to search since half his family lived there. There, he became acquainted with the shrine maidens of the Tsubake Shiori Shrine. Upon traveling back to Yuqing with Kayo, they were both found by Kofuku and decided to return to Ka Bue to help with the crisis.
A relaxed and flexible fellow, uninterested in extra stress or work. He prefers spending his days simply enjoying the finer things in life, like writing poems, doing calligraphy, or just flower watching with a cup of high-quality tea. While he acknowledges that hardship is inevitable, he tries to focus in on being in the present, content with what already is. Heās surprisingly down to earth and willing to get his companions to calm down. Good atā¦healing, obviously.

Tatsuko Intro
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!)
Just a simple performer from the streets of Poteria, used to living day-by day. She comes from a humble family and frugal backgrounds, seeing many opportunities but never offered them. While she was performing, Geki had approached her to ask for directions around town. After getting to chat with him for a while, she realized that he was going to places and experiencing things she always wanted for herself. She asked to join him on his travels, to which he agreed, and the two set out through Poteria. Upon hearing of Kofukuās plight, she eagerly agreed to help, out of hopes that it might help her find her purpose and passion in life.
Plucky, and a bit brash, Tatsuko marches on with bravado. Sheās not very literate, but she tries to read whatever books and plays she can getāor have been recommended in the town gossip circles. Despite looking like nothing can bring her down, sheās actually pretty aimless and confused on what to make of herself. Even so, she hopes that by trying to be someone others like, she can learn to like herself, too. Good at teamwork and boosting others up.

Kofuku Intro
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!)
One of the shrine maidens from the Tsubake Shiori Shrine, and the only one who managed to leave the region during the crisis. She spent her whole life working for the shrine, which is how she met Kayo and Wakaba. Despite her long history, she's not actually very enthusiastic about serving in the shrine of the Expression of Scholars, as she simply has a hard time abiding by the lifestyle. Even so, she cares greatly for her fellow shrine maidens, and wants to restore the shrine to the way it once was. When she was fleeing Tsubake, she found a charm that inexplicably appeared in her pocket. It protects her from the crisis surrounding the area.
Cheery and happy-go-lucky, Kofuku likes facing the world with a bright attitude. She is very handy and loves handicrafts, such as whittling or making origami. She is also a chronic thrill seeker, as the life in the shrine wasn't very exciting, so she'll often use activities that are high-risk like gambling. She's very energetic and tries her best to get along with everyone. Good at removing curses and bringing blessings.

"Pathless Alliance"
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!)
A joke nickname between these four based off of their sense of alienation in their lives, which somehow ended up sticking despite the negative allusions.
Kofuku is a shrine maiden from the Tsubake Shiori Shrine, and the one to seek out Kayo to ask for help regarding the crisis there. She carries a strange charm that prevents her from being affected.
Tatsuko is a street performer from Poteria who joined Geki on his travels, hoping to find something for herself. She's very acrobatic and good at pulling a crowd.
Wakaba is a healer from Yuqing and was originally sought out by Kayo for his services. That being said, he travels with them to escape the more high pressure lifestyle of being a dedicated healer.
Mayu is a wanderer from Mwudu who can't stand staying in one place for too long. He joined with Elluka as a fellow traveler and as a guide for the towns of Mwudu.
Nitsune Intro
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!)
The middle child of the Sankishi trio. He has a habit of coddling Tsukine, as they had to go through life and death together while orphaned in the woods. They met Ren on his travels, and upon being cared for by him, became attached and refused to leave his side even when they arrived at a safe town. He became one of their disciples and helps them with his work. Upon going with Ren to the shrine where they met Tenou, she was both jealous that her brother was spending so much time with him and disappointed that she couldn't get to know the new guy as well, but eventually got along with him swimmingly. He was eager to help with Kofuku's plight, as he felt it was something that no person could ignore after hearing of it.
An optimistic archer who enjoys being of help to people. Having a rosy view of life despite everything, he dreams of heroism and romance. He likes bird watching and practicing at the archery ranges when he's not helping others or Ren. He is surprisingly stubborn and hotheaded, often leaping into situations quickly and somehow managing to get out of them just as fast. Pampers his twin out of guilt that they had a rough childhood. Good at striking fast and true.
Return to Sankishi
Tsukine Intro
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!) The youngest of the Sankishi trio. She is very protective of Nitsune, as they both had to rely on each other when they were orphaned and stranded in the woods. They met Ren on his travels, and upon being cared for by him, became attached and refused to leave his side even when they arrived at a safe town. She became one of his disciples and helps him with his work. Upon going with Ren to the shrine where they met Tenou, she was initially wary of a stranger traveling with them, but eventually warmed up to his presence. She was hesitant on helping with Kofuku's plight, but ended going along because she didn't want to leave the rest of her team.
A mild-tempered swordsmaster who wishes for a peaceful life. Already tired and jaded, she simply wants to rest and enjoy her life with her family. She's picked up crocheting and swordsplay after Nitsune and Ren badgered her about finding hobbies that weren't helping Ren or napping. She is very in tune with others' emotions, and tries her best to preserve her twin's idealism. Good at striking hard and blocking hits.
Return to Sankishi
Ren Intro
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!)
The eldest of the Sankishi trio, and the one who is considered the default leader. He is a scholar who is closely associated with the shrines of Ka Bue, often traveling between them to compile and update records. He met Tsukine and Nitsune on one of his travels to a shrine, the twins' parents slain by a Sadness. Ren escorted them until he could reach the next town, only for them to be too attached to him, so he ended up with two proteges and younger siblings. One day, a shrine requested his presence, as Tenou was there looking for information. While Ren did not have what Tenou sought, his curiosity got the best of him, so they began traveling with him to join his research. When Kofuku's plight was known, he agreed to help because the shrinemaidens of the Tsubake Shiori Shrine were old friends and he was obligated to help due to his connection with the shrines.
A calm, stoic bookworm. He craves nothing more than knowledge itself, and will do almost anything to satisfy his curiosity. Outside of his studies, he enjoys logistics and fishing, often spending hours by the riverside with a large stack of books. He has a hard time actually striking with force, but he is very skilled at using Craft to weaken and slow objects, as well as enemies.

Sankishi(Ren, Tsukine, Nitsune)
(Many thanks to the ISAT Profile Maker by Lea!)
A family of three who originally joined Tenou on his travels.
Ren is a scholar who works closely with the shrines of Ka Bue, traveling between them to compile records and new research. He found Tsukine and Nitsune stranded in the woods during a trip, and they refused to leave him once they reached a town.
Tsukine is the younger twin of Nitsune, skilled with close range combat. She is often assisting Ren with paperwork and records when not found napping or training.
Nitsune is the older twin of Tsukine, skilled with long range combat. He is often helping the townsfolk with odd jobs when not assisting Ren or bird watching.
They had met Tenou when a shrine contacted Ren for certain records. While he didn't have any that helped, all three wanted to join Tenou in his search for a certain subject.

Lexicon Part 2:
Tsubake: The Prefecture that encompases Kuragumo. A slightly inland prefecture. Exclusive to IDAR.
Kuragumo: The village in Ka Bue that IDAR starts in and is treated as the beginning point for loops. Roughly 25-40 min walk from the Shiori Shrine. Within the Tsubake Prefecture. Equivalent to Dormont in ISAT. Exclusive to IDAR.
Shiori Shrine: The main shrine of the Tsubake Prefecture, primarily worships the Expression of Scholars, Shiori. The equivalent to the House of Change in ISAT. Exclusive to IDAR.
The Queen: The big bad, the main villain, etc etc, defeat her to win the game, yada yada! Equivalent to The King in ISAT(at least, in terms of game mechanics). Sheās called the Queen because Iām eepy and it gets the point across. Exclusive to IDAR.
Tuning/Zoning out: A game mechanic in ISAT that allows you to fast forward through dialogue youāve already seen. Because IDAR will most likely not be playable, this is just. Skipping scenes outright. All time loopers are capable of tuning out to skip scenes and conversations.
