Tatsuko
There, finally got another one done! This is Dragon Tomoe Tsurugi—Tatsuko. I thought really hard about this name, guys. Apparently “Tatsu” means “to reach” or “to achieve,” which just fits Tomoe so well, but it’s also associated with a certain Kanji of the word Dragon. (Or so I’ve read on the google.) I had the idea for this design for ages, but it took so long to pull off, because I had to give her a simple looking suit that didn’t look like Kagami’s so that the mask could be the focal point. And don’t even ask how long that mask took to design. (It actively made me cry.) The colors were really frustrating too. Honestly this design was a nightmare, but it’s a good one. Or at least I think so.
The origin for Tatsuko happens during “Ryukomori,” mostly because I had a super cool thematic idea in mind. You know how the dragon has control over the elements? And how Kagami is made out of mist? Well… you probably already guessed where this is going, but basically Tatsuko uses her powers to command Kagami to release the akuma. It seemed right for the character dynamic between mother and daughter and just kind of fit the powerset perfectly.
So… Tada!
