in Etruria is live! Hurray!
The schedule is rather irregular for the time being, but I didn't feel like sitting on these pages much longer.

Tumblr mirror updates are always on Wednesdays, after the Sunday release.
in Etruria is updating!
The comic is now live on ComicFury! Updates (irregular) will be always on Sundays at 10am (CET).
The first page is currently online. Bear with me as I might change the format of the pages as we go.

2024 Update
Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. Here's a long-due update on how things are going for in Etruria. The summary is that I am still knee-deep in the research and style-testing phase. Research: I had the opportunity to listen to some guest lectures on various Etruscan topics and I realised how I barely scratched the surface with what I got. Luckily I will be attending an Etruscan-based conference, which I am sure the comic can benefit from. I wish I had more time to read through all the books and articles I have gotten. The good news is that the Bibliography page will be updated soon with more interesting reads. Art: I am still struggling with my tablet and the overall feel of digital art. I found a drawing pen which I quite like, but I feel that the lines are too thin and the format is not quite how I envisioned it. I guess I need more practice and all. The good news here is that I have at least rough sketched all the pages for the prologue! There is going to be a total of 15 pages, with some double spreads. It is going to be interesting how I will deal with those double spreads technically, but I am excited nonetheless. I'll keep you all updated once I have made some significant progress. Take care and hopefully see you soon! Owl_Ask

The new cover for the reboot!
Please enjoy while I continue to work on the research and the prologue. Also, feel free to check out the new pages on the website's navigation bar ;)
Website Maintenance
I am updating slowly the website's look and tabs so hopefully, it will look nicer and more professional hahaha.
Feel free to check it out and let me know if there's something weird-looking.
Another poll!! This time it is about languages! If I do a reboot, in what language should the comic be?
English
Italian (it does take place in Italy after all)
Maltese (to give a mysterious vibe)
None - It should remain silent

A little Update
Hello everyone! It's high time that I post a little update. I am quite pleased to say that my thesis writing is going great and I'll be able to hand it in next month. That means that hopefully at the end of August, I'll have more time for this project of mine :) However, I got some thoughts on in Etruria and its current state: I am thinking about a possible reboot of this comic. Sometimes rebooting a comic isnāt the wisest decision and I am sure in Etruria would remain enjoyable to read in its current concept. I am, however, concerned about the depth of the narrative. From whatās posted itās hard to see what the underlying motives and decisions are. Like for example, why was Velia in the forest to begin with, who even is Zerter and why is he there, why is Ramtha trying to save him? I feel that these are questions readers would, rightly, ask themselves and I am limited in how to convey these depths in the current visualisation, which reflects my limited knowledge of page designing and illustrating. To be fair, when I started in Etruria I didnāt expect it to turn out into an experimental comic. I literally just saw the Tityos Painter plate and thought how interesting that depiction of a wolf-man is and let my imagination loose. There wasnāt a story at the beginning, but I liked the motive, so I continued the setting with further drawings to the point is actually became a story. In a way, I feel that this story deserves a better narrative and visualisation, while the current form isnāt doing it any justice. I also think that listing the inspirations and further readings on certain subjects like banqueting and haruspicy, would make it more transparent what sources I used for the depictions and provide good starting points for anyone interested in the Etruscan culture. This is mainly because I am an archaeologist and our field is being confronted by many conspiracy theorists, denialists, and misuse of our data. It would also mean a lot of work for me, which any webcomic demands and which comprehensive sourcing with a bibliography requires. I love comics and I also want to put out my stories, but I fear my lack of dedication with time (like with my old, now abandoned webcomic Nero in da Domus). If I plan it better and keep the story short (as in no unnecessary sub-plots) it would be feasible, but I canāt say. However, I wish to finally have a comic of mine completed. These are just some thoughts I have. If I actually end up doing a reboot, I am not sure, but I would like to hear your thoughts on it too since you're my readers. Ultimately you have to understand the comic. :) Thank you all for reading and for waiting patiently for the next installment!! Best regards!
Thoughts on "in Etruria": Have you been able to follow the story to this point?
Yeah - I know what's going on
Semi-ish - I don't always understand the illustration but I get the gist of it
No - What is even happening and who are the characters??
It's hard to follow due to the constant change of style/pace/medium
What even is "in Etruria"?
Thanks <3

Hiatus - Belated 3rd Year Anniversary
Hi everyone! I hope everyone is well. Iām still not able to return from my hiatus, since Iāve still got too much irl stuff happening, which have priorities. However I just realised last week that in Etruria has been on the web for 3 years now!! Crazy!!
In order to celebrate this I thought to do a redraw of the very first illustration that kicked off this story way back in 2020: Full Moon in Etruria. This piece is done in oil pastels (mainly cause I found my old box hahaha) and I really like the vibe it is giving off.
The comic itself will probably resume in May-June. I have already started with the next installment, so Iāll have a small buffer in order to avoid such a long hiatus again. :D
I hope you like this illustration and this little update from me. Take care and until next time!
