"Are you sure it's alright that I stick around here...?" He'd ask with a shift of that single orb of crimson, a bandage tightly wound around his chest from where he attempted to stab himself earlier in the week. He sat upon the couch within the dragon slayer's home, watching her carefully. "I should be heading back--" where could he head? No where. At the moment this was his saving grace. "Whatever..."
An eerie silence washed over the two as Natsu washed thedishes that Rogue had finished using but she ignored his question, biting herlip so she wouldnāt say something she would regret. She had ordered Happy to staywith Gray, since she obviously didnāt trust Rogue enough to even be around herExceed. Her tanned fingers increased their grip on the plate before the sound ofshattering glass echoed around the small home while Natsumi panted heavily, hersharpened canines piercing her lip as a singular tear slid down her cheek butshe quickly burned it away.
āAnd just where would you go, Cheney?ā Natsu asked, keeping her back turned to himwhile her voice still retained that sharp venom that sheād lashed out at himwith during the night which caused them both so much pain. āYou murdered Sting and havebeen banished from Sabertooth.ā She spat with obvious malice in hernormally playful tone, going out of her way to remind Rogue of what heād done. While she had defended Rogue from the angered delegates of Sabertooth, she hadnot meant her words nor had she forgiven him. Anything to get Minerva alongwith Orga and Rufus away⦠but she had seen Yukinoās heartbroken face and itpained her to see such a gentle girl such as her with anger on her normallysoft features.
Turning around, Natsumi finally faced him with raw anger inher routinely peppy amber eyes. Holding the shards of the broken plate in herhand, she began to walk over towards him and idly tossed the useless platter inthe garbage can while she came to a stop before him. Even while sitting on hercouch, Rogue was still rather large and she didnāt need to truly bend over toreach out at him. Her rickety hand extended and grabbed the front of his ebonyfringe, but she didnāt pull or make any violent moves towards himābrushing itaside, she stared down at the now paled, cerise eye that had lost a goodportion of sight. Scoffing and pulling away, Natsu stepped back and interlockedher arms, glaring down at him.
āThe only reason youārehere is because⦠I made a promise to you andSting. Youāre not getting off the hook that easy, Rogue. I promise you that.ā
