sorry i disappeared there for a hot minute. it was not intentional. i wound up starting a new med that has made me sick during the adjustment period. i wound up going to the er, but i'm ultimately fine. so that brings me to the big reveal.... this also happened.....

we added to the family. meet Mochi. he's an 11 week old purebred Pomeranian. he's adorable and a sweetheart. however, he has had some health issues and we haven't been able to introduce him to our shih tzu mix, Ziggy. they have to be out at different times and not share any toys or water etc. so that's been hard juggling time for both. also i forgot how difficult raising a puppy is. i had to sleep on the living room floor one night to get him to stop crying and now my old ass has a bruised and painful hip. but it's worth it. he's doing great. he's figured out where to potty. he's learned his name. he takes his meds. he's a joyful little guy that's so happy to have his forever home. <3

so this means i will be a bit sporadic while i juggle time for my wife and gf (who is still recovering from her hospital stay and double surgery so i still have to care for her), care for both dogs, care for my cats (one of whom is pissed and i figured that because she's hated Ziggy for all 6 years of his existence) and do all my house work etc. the new med has me exhausted as is so i am really tired like all the time right now.

i still want to be here. i still want to write. i just have to admit that my time will be sporadic and limited until things start to even out. thank you for your patience and understanding.

and here's my baby boy Ziggy - who is upgraded to a psychiatric service dog as he is trained for a task (he can tell when i am and alerts me when i'm manic or going manic)

CJ had been in his father's office, trying to look for anything that could help him find where he was. The last thing he expected was to hear the door being kicked open and windows shattering downstairs. "Shit..."

He immediately ducks down, trying to map out a safe escape from the room and the home. The next thing he knows, someone is in the doorway and speaking to him. He stares at her, confused. How was he supposed to trust her? What was even going on here?

Hearing more things shattering and what sounded like bullets downstairs, he knew he didn't have the luxury of asking questions. He nods. "Yeah... Yeah, okay."

With a lingering look, he books it for his room and throws open the window. He'd snuck out many times before through here and knew exactly the way to get down without falling. He hurries and darts for his car. Should he leave or wait for that woman? Did she know something about his dad?

In truth, Ethan barely ever looked at himself in the mirror anymore. He avoided it at all costs. The man he saw in the reflection was no longer who he was anymore. His reflection showed him a tired, normal father. Behind the reflection was the truth. He would never be the same again.

The true reason he avoided the reflection was because he knew he no longer really recognized it. There was a disconnect. A yearning for a time that was so quickly robbed from him, but a need to push on to the future and keep going. That's what it was to live, wasn't it?

"I have." He murmurs, jaw clenching for a moment. "Doesn't do anything anymore."

silas and his brother have been phrogging at different locations in the village. now that the lycans have been let loose and smaller, less defended locations aren't safe, their tactic has been to hide out in large enough structures to hold warmth. luckily, the big vampire castle was very easy to hide out in.

he has no idea that he's been overheard, of course.

Scarcely anything went on in the castle without her knowing. If she didn't immediately suspect something, then her daughters would sniff it out and bring it to her attention. This day, however, she stumbles upon the problem by herself. The smell clued her in. Disgusting, vile, wretched creatures—men had their own putrid smell that she could detect anywhere. Even their blood didn't taste as good as a woman's.

Listening to the imbecile's little speech, she places her hands on her hips and tilts her head in amusement. Glowing yellow eyes bore into them, watching them put their filthy hands on her things in her castle. After several moments of not being detected she finally sighs to give herself away. Her gaze bores into the nasty one that had been talking.

"Your survival instincts are lacking." She smirks. "You'd do better to trust a rat before him if that's how good his precious skills are. Needless to say... You've been caught. Going through my things, no less, like a common thief. I've killed for less than that. Now... What do you think should happen to you?"
