       he didn’t check his phone that morning .  he had his notifications turned off so that he would avoid distractions .  if he wanted to get through his finals, he really needed to dedicate the weekend to them at least .  he thought the best option was to take his laptop, drive at a nearby café, and study there .  for some reason, he was a lot more motivated by the noise of a coffee shop rather than the overwhelming silence of the library .  he left his dorm and headed out to the parking lot of the campus .  that was when he’d found ximena destroying someone’s car .           ‘    hey!  mena!  ’      dean called out right away and ran to her .      ‘  —  what are you doing?!  are you nuts?!   ’    he didn’t even know whose car that was, let alone why she broke its windows . 

              it was one window after the other ,  her adrenaline sky high as the bat made contact with the car    &    all she felt was relief.  NO REGRET.  that was when dean’s voice echoed in the drums of her ears  ---  tired , blood shot hues quickly averted their attention to him instead of maddie’s car for a second     &    a laugh slipped through her lips so she’d ignore the tears ready to fall from her eyes to focus on his betrayal.    ‘  of course you’d come running out for her  !   this is what you do to me after my mother GOT MURDERED  ,  you go hook up with maddie  ?!   fuck you , dean.  ’     ximena voiced with fury  ---  she felt like anika in that moment.  truly being her mother’s daughter.  her cut up ,  bloody hand gripped the baseball bat tighter as she circled to the front of the vehicle with the MOST WICKED smile covering her features    &    her hues glanced at the male.    ‘  y’know i actually did love you alot  ---  now i just can’t fucking stand to be near you or even look at you.   ’    SMASH !   front windshield gone.

LAST THING SHE NEEDED TO SEE WAS THAT PICTURE.  her gaze is locked on her phone as it showed a picture the media posted of  dean   &   maddie kissing  at the party last night ,  the gathering mena told her boyfriend to attend instead of coming to see her   ;   she figured he needed to hang with the boys since he’s had all his attention on her after her mother’s passing. the blood under the lyon’s skin began to boil  ,  that built up anger getting the best of her with her mind running a marathon.  her blood shot hues are scanning the campus in hopes one of he two would appear in her path.  it wasn’t long until her gaze locked on maddie’s car then her eyes looked for the nearest weapon ,  stealing a BASEBALL BAT from a nearby abandoned duffle bag. ximena heard the whispers about the image ,  about how crazy she looked   &   it just added fuel to the fire. then the bat came into contact with one of maddie’s car windows.  every little thing that was bothering the female was released in her violent action  ---  the photo ,  her therapist ,  her family  ,  her mother’s death ,  she was done trying to be normal.  they wanted to hear a lyon roar  ;  SHE SHALL BE SET FREE.

   despite her reassuring tone, dean couldn’t help but feel small and out of place in such a big mansion with such estranging people.  although he knew the basics about her family and he had visited them before, it didn’t make him any less anxious every time   —     plus, it had been quite some time since his last visit, and he couldn’t help but feel like a new kind of tension had developed.  at her question he turned to her and shook his head.        ‘  oh, no.  i think we’re already late enough. ’   he chuckled through his nervousness as he took initiative to proceed at the table where the others would already be seated and waiting  …   

   dinner with the rest of the family wasn’t as awkward as she expected ,  her brothers behaved like civil human beings  &   of course still conversated with dean per normal  ,  her father was a bit more tense due to the fact he knew the game ximena was playing with the vervain necklace presented around her boyfriend’s neck   ;  lucious knew she was PROTECTING HIM from the chaos. the female’s hand took a hold of dean’s after dinner ,  leading him upstairs to her room for privacy  (  also before she could be pulled aside by her father  ) .  a sigh released from her pink stained lips , taking a seat on her bed as dark hues looked at dean with a sly smile.  ‘  don’t mind my dad ,  him   &   my mother had a fight earlier so that’s why he was being the way he was.  he’s not the kindest soul when he’s angry.  ’   the lie slips out of her mouth with her stomach tied in knots  ---  lying to the love of her life wasn’t the EASIEST thing to do.

       state of mind regained its senses steadily but at a slow pace, as his body was slowly resetting.  he tried to focus on her words as he couldn’t help but notice how familiar and soothing her voice and her presence was.  it was almost unfathomable to replay the scene in his head and recollect what had happened to him.  it was as if his mind wouldn’t let him remember just yet, in fear of causing more damage on a mental level.      ‘   woah   …      —   ’  he remarked, while she held him.  a weakened hand reached for hers, but he didn’t have the strength to hold her as tightly as he wished.  it was right then that a nurse returned along with the doctor as the two interrupted the couple’s conversation to examine dean.    

    IT’S A MIRACLE,  dean heard him mumble to himself.    ‘  you must have an angel watching over you, son.  ’

           mena promised she’d be back   &   with dinner so dean didn’t have to eat the food the hospital served ,  from a long night the female had to fuel back up with her proper diet since actual human food barely would put a dent in her stomach.  her knuckle gently knocked on the glass before she came around the curtain to see her boyfriend ,  her pulse picks up rapidly as if mena was nervous but she was far from that   ;  more of EXCITEMENT.   ‘  i brought chinese with eggrolls  &  fortune cookies.  ---  how are you feeling ,  babe  ?  ’
