A Contemporary Home For A Family In Bahrain
Moriq have designed the Amwaj Villa, a contemporary home for a family in Bahrain.
Difference of levels and double heights perk up the interiors. Large floor to ceiling glasses connect the outside with the inside.
Specks of colours were used in furniture and artifacts only keeping the basic canvas neutral (in greys and whites). Grey white traventino were used as floors. Walls were in shades of greys and ceiling were pristine white. Distressed wallpapers were used on strategic walls.
A custom designed chimney is the centre of attraction in the dining area. A large scaled log of wood was used as the grab bar for the staircase. Skylights bring in a lot of natural light.
Old reclaimed doors as used as interior elements. Every room has visual and physical access to the outside.
Furniture is from Italian brands. Rugs and lamps are all hand picked. As mentioned earlier the emphasis was more on scale, proportions and integration rather than on decoration. The final look is simple and uncluttered both in architecture and interior.
The house was meant for a single family, situated in Amwaj, Bahrain. The plot was 690 sq mts and the total built came up to 778 sq mts/8371sft.
The owners wanted a modern, contemporary styled home with strong emphasis on interior architecture and strong interior/exterior connections.
The home was planned on 3 levels with just the living levels and kitchen plus dining on the lower floor. A well equipped gym with steam and sauna were planned on the rear side. Two bedrooms with a non dedicated home theatre comprises the mid level.
Master suite with multi dress rooms and multi toilets is planned on the last level. All three levels are connected by means of a staircase and a lift.
Luxurious vacation house
The project of these four vacation houses emanates the luxurious and sophisticated spirit of Brazilian weekend home architecture. Wonderful example of elegant luxury, contemporary design, all extras needed (swimming pool with Jacuzzi, sauna in the basement, spectacular view) high quality materials and luxuriant tropical plant life – all design to create rich of sunshine and pleasure ambiance. The architects from Studio Arthur Casas constructed the houses thoughtfully. At one hand each house preserves its secluded privacy (using vertical gardens that cover the blind walls of the neighbor houses and slightly unaligned construction) – at the other, promoting social interaction, all the ground floors and patios are connected. Zenithal openings that ensure an abundance of natural light, glass partitions instead of walls, large glass panels that slight completely and insure unobstructed in-out float, generous views from each premise- these vacation houses are as much it’s possible linked with the surrounding natural giving’s of Sao Paulo northern beach. The interior of one of the houses is also designed from the architects, here the natural palate of materials – wood, delicate natural fibers, bricks and soft textures – is supplemented by natural color palette (white, beige and earthly colors) that allows the warmth of the space to take on and charm you. The furniture choice is an elegant mixture of vintage pieces, wood craft additions and comfort classics –all together creating very welcoming vacation ambiance where the art collection of the owners stands out naturally entertaining the eye of the visitor.

The Ultimate Green Hotel
The Urban Hotel is a very well thought-out solar-powered ‘green’ hotel. It features rainwater recycling system and a bicycle in each room, to help visitors explore the city. Now the cool thing here is that there is a specific slot in the room to place the bike and you can use it as an exercise cycle. Stored kinetic energy from it gets converted to electricity and helps power small gadgets and lights. If you get enthusiastic enough, for all you know, you could end up renting the room for free! Apparently all your pedaled miles get converted to energy savings and can be redeemed against the room rent. Most Beautiful Proposals For A Planned Pedestrian Bridge In London
Tower Bridge isn’t the only bridge in London, though it is the most iconic. Well, The London Borough of Wandsworth is having a competition for a new bridge between Nine Elms and Pimlico, and the results so far seem somewhat crazy. It has to be a pedestrian and a cyclists bridge, so the plans feature many long and winding ramps. Other than that, it’s a free game, and people are going wild with the plans. While there are plenty of regular, one ark, this-is-somewhat-futuristic bridges, others are totally crazy, looking like alien infestation or a ruler that someone dropped on the river. Some add lights, some even enclose the bridge!
